Overview: <p>Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for a broad range of accounting functions, including transactional processing, financial statement preparation, analysis, monitoring, cost allocation, audit support, and the implementation of financial and compliance controls.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>This position is a full-time, 12-month contract, with strong potential for extension. The incumbent will work on-site, five days per week.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules</li> <li>Conduct detailed general ledger account review and reconciliations</li> <li>Manage accounts payable and receivable processes</li> <li>Provide backup support for accounts payable functions as needed</li> <li>Prepare ad hoc financial reports to support evolving business needs and decision-making</li> <li>Monitor departmental and program budgets to ensure alignment with financial targets</li> <li>Provide support for external audits</li> <li>Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filings</li> <li>Perform other duties as required to support the finance team and organizational goals</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Professional accounting designation (CPA) required, combined with a university degree from an accredited post-secondary institution</li> <li>5+ years of progressive accounting experience</li> <li>Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft 365, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel</li> <li>Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with sound judgement and a high level of responsibility</li> <li>Ability to work manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment</li> <li>Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams</li> </ul>
