Overview: <p>The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting the accurate processing, reporting and administration of payroll for over 5,000 employees. &nbsp;The Payroll Coordinator also plays a vital role in supporting other activities of the Finance team in preparing inputs for review and entry into the General Ledger.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Coordinate payroll related activities including liasing with the payroll service provider ADP to ensure payroll is processed &nbsp;in an accurate and timely manner</li> <li>Performing audit checks of all incoming/outgoing transactions, ensure accuracy of payroll data</li> <li>Validates, processes, uploads and balances timesheets submitted manually</li> <li>Calculates vacation pay and other adjustments as required</li> <li>Handles stop payments and manual cheque calculations</li> <li>Prepare year end reconciliations and tax form preparation</li> <li>Monitors, actions and responds to inquiries on a regular and timely basis in a professional and courteous manner</li> <li>Ensures that all recordkeeping is maintained on an up-to-date basis for compliance and internal controls purposes</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Experience processing payroll for unionized employees, interpreting payroll documentation against collective agreements</li> <li>Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) with adaptability to learn new applications</li> <li>Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills as well as a team player</li> <li>Completion of Canadian Payroll Association&rsquo;s Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)</li> <li>Knowledge of general ledger entries</li> </ul>
