Overview: The Assistant Director serves as a contributing member to the Enrollment Management team. They are responsible for recruiting, advising, and enrolling prospective students to the College and contributing to the overall success of the Enrollment Management team. <br /><br />The Assistant Director is solely responsible for a territory of applicants in which their primary responsibility is critically assessing applications, making critical and thoughtful admission decisions, and applying strategic thought to create an impactful and inclusive campus community. The Assistant Director serves as a member of the Admission Committee and is specifically responsible for travel and virtual engagements on behalf of the College; interviewing candidates and presenting to various contingencies (students, school counselors, community-based organizations).
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Reviews admission applications to the College; presents recommendations to the admission committee; and has ownership in decision-making processes (this includes some evening and weekend work).</li> <li>Maintains responsibility for geographic territory including oversight of inquiry and applicant statistics and trends; as well as cultivating relationships with students, school counselors, faculty, staff and alumni/ae.</li> <li>Interviews, conducts group information sessions, and travels to represent the College at high schools, community colleges, college fairs, and other appropriate programs (this includes some evening and weekend work). This is both in person and in virtual platforms.</li> <li>Manages and coordinates specialized roles both virtually and in person, which may include event planning, managing student volunteers, overseeing alumni admission programming, overseeing the Office&rsquo;s social media presence and managing various projects within the Office&rsquo;s CRM, Slate. These roles are managed independently and/or as part of the Enrollment Management Team.</li> <li>Assumes additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul> <br />Supervises:<br />Student admission fellows
Requirements: Minimum Level of Education <br />Required <br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree</li> </ul> <br />Position Knowledge/Skills &amp; Abilities Requirements:<br /> <ul> <li>At least 2-5 years of experience of increasingly responsible roles in admission.</li> <li>Must have demonstrated ability to work creatively and efficiently, both independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>Must have a commitment to diversity of all kinds and to creating and cultivating a diverse community.</li> <li>Must have excellent public speaking, interpersonal and written communication skills and exceptional critical decision-making ability.</li> <li>Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&amp;A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Must demonstrate strong technological capabilities. Experience with digital event platforms preferred.</li> </ul> <br />Working Conditions:<br /> <ul> <li>This is a temp to perm opportunity</li> <li>Requires a willingness to work some evenings and weekends.</li> <li>Requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally (annual travel is estimated at approximately 5-7 weeks per year) and to engage in virtual travel opportunities.</li> <li>Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver&rsquo;s License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College&rsquo;s insurer&rsquo;s criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College&rsquo;s vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee&rsquo;s driving record based on the College insurer&rsquo;s criteria; and safety training as required by management.</li> </ul>
