Overview: <br />The Senior Assistant Director serves as a contributing member to the Enrollment Management team responsible for recruiting, advising, and enrolling prospective students to the College and contributing to the overall success of the Enrollment Management team. The Senior Assistant Director is responsible for managing a robust portfolio; serving as an integral member of a 13-person admission committee; managing the recruitment of a geographic region of the world in which their primary responsibility is critically assessing applications, making critical and thoughtful admission decisions, and applying strategic thought to create an impactful and inclusive campus community. The Senior Assistant Director is specifically responsible for travel and virtual engagements on behalf of the College; interviewing candidates, conducting information sessions and presenting to various contingencies (students, school counselors, community-based organizations), while taking into consideration content and delivery modalities for both in-person and virtual audiences.
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Reviews admission applications to the College; presents recommendations to the admission committee; and has ownership in decision-making processes (this includes some evening and weekend work).</li> <li>Maintains responsibility for geographic territory including oversight of inquiry and applicant statistics and trends; as well as cultivating relationships with students, school counselors, community-based organizations, and alumni/ae.&nbsp;</li> <li>Interviews and conducts Group Information Sessions that convey key institutional messaging to prospective students, families, counselors and/or other stakeholders. This includes travel to represent Babson at high schools, college fairs, and other appropriate programs; and support for all virtual programming which happens in conjunction with in-person events.</li> <li>Manages and coordinates specialized roles both virtually and in person, which may include coordination of Student or Alumni Volunteer Programs, Campus Events, Transfer Admission, International Recruitment, Liaison to Athletics, coordination of Diversity programming and events and other projects as deemed necessary. These roles are managed independently and/or as part of the Enrollment Management Team.</li> <li>Liaises with on-campus partners to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships that ensure all aspects of the College&rsquo;s experiences are represented throughout the admission process (i.e., Office of Student Engagement, Office of Multicultural and Identity Programs, Residential Life, etc.)</li> <li>Simultaneously supports all Admission campaigns and strategies that reach both virtual and in-person audiences; has high-level knowledge of various platforms which support all admission initiatives.</li> <li>Assists in the training and development of new and current employees and mentors Assistant Directors.</li> <li>Assumes additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE</strong></p> <p>Student Admission Fellows</p>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree</strong></li> <li>Requires a <strong>minimum of 4-6 years of previous experience; previous college admission/college counseling experience required.</strong></li> <li>Must have demonstrated <strong>ability to work creatively and efficiently</strong>, both independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>Must have a <strong>commitment to diversity</strong> of all kinds and to creating and cultivating a diverse community.</li> <li>Must have <strong>excellent public speaking, interpersonal, and written communication skills</strong> as well as exceptional critical decision-making ability.</li> <li>Must embrace the philosophy of Entrepreneurial Thought &amp; Action (ET&amp;A) and use creativity and innovation in decision-making.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>stay informed of industry trends and developments</strong> to help guide the Office&rsquo;s admission process and operations.</li> <li>Demonstrated interest in enrolling and retaining a diverse student body with a focused interest in the value of global education.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrates <strong>past experience mentoring student workers and/or peers</strong>.</li> <li>Embraces ideas and changes created by all community members.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&amp;A; work independently to solve problems; look for opportunities to take on responsibility; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>anticipate</strong> and <strong>embrace</strong> <strong>change</strong>; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong technical skills</strong> in Microsoft Office or Google products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
