Overview: <br />The Assistant Dean oversees all aspects of accreditation for Babson&rsquo;s three accreditors: NECHE, AACSB, and EQUIS. Specifically responsible for conducting analyses on the portfolio of faculty in credit-bearing programs (undergraduate and graduate) to adhere to institutional policy and strategic initiatives. For this role, the breakdown of responsibilities is Accreditation: 85%; and Digital Measure &amp; ADMB: 15%.
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Oversee accreditation which includes: keeping abreast of annual changes in accreditation standards and reporting requirements; submitting reports (Annual Report - NECHE; Business School Questionnaire - AACSB; and Mid-Term Report &ndash; EQUIS); drafting and editing NECHE substantive change requests and associated follow-up reporting; completing primary drafting and compilation of information for each accreditation&rsquo;s major report at the five-year interval; and planning and coordinating the on-site visit by a peer review team from each accreditor at the five-year interval (AACSB and EQUIS), comprehensive site visit from NECHE at the ten-year interval; and periodic off-campus site visits by NECHE.</li> <li>Act as the liaison officer to NECHE which includes: providing an identified place on campus where information can be disseminated and questions answered about accreditation; interpreting for the institution the policies and procedures of the commission and calling attention to matters that may have application to the institution, particularly when the commission adopts or revises policies; undertaking the institution&rsquo;s accreditation planning and assuring the logistics of accreditation work are accomplished at the institution; serving as the chair or resource person for the self-study committee, coordinating preparations for evaluation visits, and overseeing follow-up studies resulting from the evaluation; maintaining a file of all accreditation material; attending the annual meeting of the commission and meetings of liaison officers in order to receive information and participate in policy development; accessing and using the NECHE institutional portal to update and manage key roles for the organization, preparing the institution&rsquo;s annual report, and, if applicable, financial screening report to the commission; submitting any reports requested by the commission including self-study, interim report, progress reports, substantive change proposals, etc.; and providing required notifications to the commission.</li> <li>Oversee the writing and submission of all accreditation documentation working in close collaboration with the Dean of the College, Associate Deans, faculty and staff.</li> <li>Assist in developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures to support and ensure compliance with accreditation standards.</li> <li>Collaborate on assessment of student learning in academic programs to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and requirements.</li> <li>Serve as the liaison to the Appointments Decision Making Body (ADMB) which includes serving as liaison for tenure and promotion processes; maintaining the queues for 4th-year reviews, tenure reviews, and contract reviews; alerting faculty and division chairs as to timelines; coordinating with division chairs and respective faculty on procedures and required documents; maintaining the confidential ADMB site for case documents; compiling the yearly case agendas for ADMB and maintaining the permanent record of case deliberations; working at the direction of ADMB co-chairs on occasional research projects; and answering questions from faculty on &ldquo;Policies and Procedures&rdquo; and implementation practices.</li> <li>Serve as the primary administrator for, and maintains, the Digital Measures faculty database and all related items. Responsibilities include initiating work requests and running reports for accreditation and academic resource allocation; updating the Digital Measures to integrate into faculty annual evaluation forms; working with the Academic Technology Innovation Center on faculty training and faculty profile design on Babson website; vetting information for appropriate categorization; and supervising the addition of new journals for proper categorization.</li> <li>Collect, compile, and analyze data related to faculty qualifications, faculty resource deployment (e.g., CE), and other academic activities for the purposes of accreditation, academic program reviews, and self-studies.</li> <li>Maintain accurate and updated faculty data across multiple systems and platforms.</li> <li>Act as a liaison to faculty committees as appropriate (e.g., Faculty Workload and Compensation Committee).</li> <li>Act as a liaison to faculty and Dean of the College on curriculum development to ensure alignment with faculty resource allocation and accreditation regulations.</li> <li>Contribute to institutional research, data, collecting and reporting as needed.</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE</strong></p> <p>May supervise undergraduate student assistants or graduate fellows/assistants</p>
Requirements: <p><strong><br />WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Master&rsquo;s Degree in Education or equivalent experience in accreditation processes.</strong></li> <li>Must have <strong>10-15 years of experience in a similar role.</strong></li> <li>Must have knowledge of best practices for accreditation and compliance in higher education</li> <li>Must have <strong>excellent analytical, technological, writing, interpersonal, and speaking skills</strong> that facilitate collaborative interactions with a diverse constituency of administrators, faculty, staff, students, accreditation agencies, and the public.</li> <li>Ability to work with faculty and staff from multiple disciplines and functions across the College.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills</strong>, applied across problems of varying nature and scope.</li> <li>Must have <strong>exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail</strong>.</li> <li>Must demonstrate discretion.</li> <li>Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support ET&amp;A; <strong>takes thoughtful risks</strong>; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li><strong>Anticipates and embraces change</strong>; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Ability to work independently to solve problems; look for opportunities to take on responsibility; take thoughtful risk; and effectively act on new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>anticipate and effectively handle change</strong>; demonstrate willingness to try new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong computer skills</strong> including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK</strong></p> <p>All Babson College faculty and staff authorized to work on campus must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">including any appropriate boosters</a>.
