Overview: <br />The Assistant/Associate Director, Residence Life for Residence Education assists in the creation and execution of innovative programs and services designed to create safe, inclusive, and developmental residential campus communities. Specifically responsible for partnering closely with the Associate Director, Residence Life for Housing Operations to implement a comprehensive residential program; supervising Area Coordinator staff; assisting in the development of departmental policy and decision-making for the achievement of Residence Life goals and objectives; implementing departmental programs and initiatives focused on student wellness and diversity, equity, and inclusion; working collaboratively to assist in the establishment of Residence Life policies and procedures; promoting peer-to-peer connections and opportunities to learn across differences by capitalizing on Babson&rsquo;s intentionally diverse community; leading key departmental programs and processes; and partnering in the delivery of student support resources for residents focused on personal and academic success. <br /><br />Student Life Impact Statement: Helping students make meaning of their Babson experience. Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>In collaboration with the Associate Dean of Students, provide leadership and vision for the development, delivery, and assessment of a residential campus program; oversee the design and implementation of a programming model for 25 residence halls and campus apartments, including special interest housing and living-learning communities; ensure that residence education programs maintains clearly articulated, developmentally appropriate learning outcomes (guided by the division&rsquo;s student development framework).</li> <li>Provide leadership, direction, and professional development to Area Coordinators and student staff members in the Associate Dean&rsquo;s portfolio, including recruitment, hiring, feedback and evaluation, and off-boarding.</li> <li>Serve as a case manager for high-level critical student conduct and CARE cases, and actively refer residents to appropriate resources and supports.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide oversight and management of programming, training, and development departmental budget ($50,000 annually).</li> <li>Serve as project manager of departmental community-building efforts including but not limited to implementation of a residential curriculum with a focus on health and wellness and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Liaise with key offices and departments including Multicultural &amp; Identity Programs, Wellness and Prevention, Community Standards, and Student Engagement to build safe and inclusive residential communities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Organize and lead Resident Assistant and Head Resident Assistant (HRA) recruitment and selection efforts; serve as a member of the Babson Community Leadership planning team; and participate in the planning and execution of a shared leadership experience with partners across the College.&nbsp;</li> <li>Design and implement a comprehensive Resident Assistant (RA) training program including annual, spring, winter, and ongoing RA training initiatives; regularly assess student learning and development; and ensure that the training curriculum connects directly to the residential curriculum and student leader competencies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee administration of the <em>Roompact</em> technology solution, including monitoring usage and making recommendations based on research gathered; conducting training sessions; and optimizing reporting and evaluation tools to inform ways to enhance the residential experience.</li> <li>Collaborate with campus partners to implement a robust slate of Living/Learning Communities, Special Interest Housing (SIH), and Themed Living Programs including: overseeing Living/Learning Community recruitment and application process, programming, and assessment; leading all aspects of Special Interest Housing program including annual application and reapplication process, roster management, and communication with Special Interest Housing student leadership; and partnering with the Office of Student Engagement to ensure SIH programming supports and promotes students organizational missions and key priorities for the benefit of the Babson community.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assist in the development of departmental assessment initiatives including Resident Assistant feedback and evaluation, departmental annual report, and benchmarking research.</li> <li>Manage Residence Education communication strategy including: partnering with College Advancement for reports to donors; submitting regular updates to Student Affairs newsletter; assisting in content creation for departmental website and social media (in collaboration with College Marketing); and developing departmental collateral that tells the story of Babson&rsquo;s robust residential communities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Support housing operations and logistics processes, specifically assisting with room changes, room selection, and damage billing.</li> <li>Serve as a dean on-call member of the crisis team which includes: responding to or assisting in a campus crisis or student emergency situation; working with medical personnel or emergency services staff to assess students&rsquo; status and evaluating ability to return to campus; conducting necessary follow-up with Public Safety, local agencies, and/or parents and staff as needed; and assisting with coordination, communication, and implementation of emergency response plans and actions.&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as a hearing officer and assist with student conduct, conflict resolution, and mediation as needed.</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities such as serving on departmental and campus committees as required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE<br /><br /></strong></p> <p>Area Coordinator(s) &ndash; Residence Life Specialty (3)</p> <p><em>Indirectly Supervises: Area Coordinator &ndash; Housing Specialty (1) and Area Coordinator &ndash; Conduct Specialty (1)</em></p>
