Overview: <br />The Associate Director, Advancement Events, in partnership with the Director, Advancement Events, leads the Advancement Events Team in the development, planning, and execution of Advancement events, including alumni engagement, development, and partnering with the Campus and Community Team on major signature College events which promote and present Babson College, its event sponsors, and participants in the best possible light. Specifically responsible for working closely with the Alumni Engagement &amp; Annual Giving team (AEAG) and the Development team and interacting with attendees including alumni, donors, members of governance, and other friends of the college.
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Responsible for the successful planning and execution of both digital and in-person events and programs that support fundraising goals, alumni and donor engagement, cultivation, and stewardship.</li> <li>Oversees the cohesive production of events with a holistic focus on attendee experience including: event marketing and communications; guest management; space design; event flow; programmatic design; speaker management; audio/visual &amp; lighting; food &amp; beverage; and more.</li> <li>Creates and disseminates production schedules, event timelines, leadership and presidential briefings, staffing plans, run of shows, registration and attendance reports, and other relevant documents.</li> <li>Creates and envisions event strategy and flow in support of Advancement metrics and goals.</li> <li>Provides on-site management and leadership for AEAG and Development programs and events.&nbsp;</li> <li>Serves as the events lead for Back-to-Babson Weekend (homecoming, reunion, and family weekend) as well as Babson Connect Worldwide, and other signature annual events.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develops and maintains the Advancement events calendar and determines, with colleagues, the event scope, audience, goal, objectives, and communications.&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborates with campus partners and oversees vendors and service providers, to define requirements for programs and events (whether on campus or off).</li> <li>Provides second level support in the planning of Commencement and other major college events as required.</li> <li>Manages budget, assesses financial implications, and effectively negotiates event costs/contracts. Produce reports as appropriate for trend analysis.</li> <li>Debriefs with Advancement colleagues and events staff post events, to include final event reporting and analysis, and opportunities for continuous improvement.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Attends and oversees programs and events conducted by others in the office to ensure that program needs and objectives are met; act as a college representative at all times.</li> <li>Travels to events as necessary.</li> <li>Assumes additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p><strong>YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE</strong></p> <p>Student Assistants</p>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree.</strong></li> <li>A <strong>minimum of 6-8 years of increasingly responsible experience in events management.</strong></li> <li>Ability to establish <strong>credibility</strong> and <strong>confidence</strong> with stakeholders.</li> <li>Must have demonstrated effectiveness in working with a diverse student body, faculty, staff, and other constituents.</li> <li>Must have excellent <strong>leadership</strong>, <strong>motivational</strong>, and <strong>supervisory</strong> skills.</li> <li>Must have a <strong>high attention to detail.</strong></li> <li>Must have experience in <strong>project</strong> <strong>planning</strong> - meeting deadlines, adherence to schedules, communication, and follow-up to stakeholders and partners.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>work independently and in a team environment</strong>, with an ability to analyze and respond to requests, issues, and challenges as they arise.</li> <li>Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support ET&amp;A; takes thoughtful risks; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li><strong>Anticipates and embraces change</strong>; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong computer skills</strong> including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>All Babson College faculty and staff authorized to work on campus must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">including any appropriate boosters</a>.
