Overview: The Associate Director, Prospect Development is responsible for providing key support to the College&rsquo;s fundraising efforts. Specifically responsible for serving as an integral resource of information essential to the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospective donors; preparing of complex briefings and donor profiles for meetings and events requiring a deep knowledge of principal and major gift strategies; supporting development officers who work with international prospects; and responsibility for data integrity, information systems management, and database administration/reporting.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Conduct in-depth research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a broad range of sources.</li> <li>Compile confidential profiles, evaluations, and memos tailored to the needs of Advancement colleagues, specifically the international team, and select campus partners.</li> <li>Oversee wealth screening and other proactive prospect identification projects by compiling, analyzing, and interpreting data.</li> <li>Provide research-based analysis to inform cultivation and solicitation strategies and collaborate with prospect managers to create and maintain prospect pipelines.</li> <li>Facilitate prospect strategy meetings by specifically focusing on detecting/discovering relationships among individuals, organizations, and groups.</li> <li>Develop policies and procedures related to research-related processes and capturing donor/prospect-related data and provide training and oversight of development staff on database use.</li> <li>Work collaboratively with gift officers and other staff to ensure strategic use of research.</li> <li>Develop and run queries and reports in fundraising database and research tools.</li> <li>Provide basic analysis of data related to fundraising initiatives.</li> <li>Support the department&rsquo;s data mining efforts as needed.</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in associated field.</strong></li> <li><strong>A minimum of 5 years of previous relevant experience (prefer 6-8 years).</strong></li> <li>Demonstrated research experience utilizing both public and subscription-based databases, preferably international resources.</li> <li>Must have <strong>excellent quantitative analysis and strategic thinking skills</strong>.</li> <li>Ability to communicate clearly and professionally verbally and in writing.</li> <li>Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>summarize extensive and diverse facts into useful information</strong>.</li> <li>Must have experience with fundraising databases (i.e., Millennium).</li> <li><strong>Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</strong></li> <li>Must have excellent attention to detail as well as strong analytical skills.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>embrace ideas</strong> and changes created by all community members. &nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to work independently to solve problems; look for opportunities to take on responsibility; take thoughtful risks; and effectively act on new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>anticipate and effectively handle change</strong>; demonstrate willingness to try new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>May require occasional nights and/or weekend work.</li> <li>All Babson College faculty and staff authorized to work on campus must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/stay-up-to-date.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">including any appropriate boosters</a>.
