Overview: The Librarian, Student Success/Interlibrary Loan will plan, implement, and evaluate, a range of outreach activities that support student success. In collaboration with the library staff and campus partners across the college, the Student Success Librarian/Interlibrary Loan is responsible for promoting library resources and services to support students&rsquo; academic and research needs; creating and executing marketing strategies to increase the library&rsquo;s visibility and usage; promoting and facilitating the adoption of open educational resources (OER); and overseeing interlibrary loan (ILL) borrowing and lending operations.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Build and maintain relationships with campus partners in academic departments, campus programs, and student organizations to promote library resources and services that support student success.</li> <li>Devise and execute marketing strategies to increase the library's visibility and usage, including creating content for the library website, social media, and other communication channels.</li> <li>Advocate for and facilitate the adoption of OER and other affordable alternatives to commercial textbooks through advocacy, outreach, and education.</li> <li>Manage ILL borrowing and lending operations, including receiving and processing ILL requests from faculty, students, and staff.</li> <li>Train and oversee student employees on ILL borrowing and lending operations.</li> <li>Design and implement innovative programming for students that cultivates belonging and awareness of library resources and services for library users.</li> <li>Identify and address barriers to student use of library collections, services, and spaces in collaboration with library staff.</li> <li>Serve as a contributing member of at least one cross-functional library committee.</li> <li>Serve as a backup for supervising Information Desk operations.</li> <li>Depending on need, may provide research consultations and support to students, faculty, administration, and other members of the campus community.</li> <li>Learns, implements, and uses new technologies in pursuit of continuous enhancement of library services and in support of larger Information Technology Services Department (ITSD) initiatives.</li> <li>Assumes additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE</strong></p> <p>Student employees</p>
Requirements: <p><strong>WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Master&rsquo;s Degree </strong>in Library and Information Studies from a school accredited by the American Library Association.</li> <li>At least 1-3 years of relevant experience.</li> <li>Must have evidence of exceptional collaboration and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and other community members.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must have a <strong>demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse and inclusive student body, faculty, staff, and other constituents.</strong></li> <li>Must have knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, business education and business library resources.</li> <li>Must have excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.</li> <li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining effective working relationships with diverse co-workers, students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other community members.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>anticipate and effectively handle change</strong>; demonstrate a willingness to try new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support Entrepreneurial Thought &amp; Action (ET&amp;A); takes thoughtful risks; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong computer skills</strong> including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>This position may require a varying work schedule, including some evening hours.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Springshare LibApps preferred.</li> <li>Experience with marketing and communication, including content creation preferred.</li> </ul>
