Overview: The Assistant Director, Undergraduate Center for Career Development serves as a career advisor and educator and collaborates with the Center&rsquo;s functional teams to deliver high quality programs and services to the undergraduate population at Babson College. Specifically responsible for collaborating on career development strategies and interventions; hosting student appointments; developing and delivering career education workshops; supporting recruitment events and initiatives; and engaging in cross-functional partnership with diversity and inclusion offices, corporate engagement teams, advancement and alumni services, faculty and administrators, and student organizations which will be integral to success in this role.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Collaborate with the CCD team to execute and advance vision, mission, and goals of the Center.</li> <li>Counsel students throughout the full career development life cycle which may include career exploration, resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, networking approaches, internship and job search strategies, offers and negotiations, LinkedIn and personal branding, and other related topics.</li> <li>Develop career management curriculum for non-credit and credit-bearing courses.</li> <li>Engage in continuous professional development in career and workforce development to drive best practices for career development programming and advising to maximize learning and student engagement.</li> <li>Collaborate with CCD Career Education team to design and deliver workshops, experiences, and other programing focused on relevant career management, industry-specific, and functional area.</li> <li>Partner with Corporate Relations to strategically expand and cultivate employer relationships, stay current on industry and employer trends, and provide programming to ensure students are prepared to succeed.</li> <li>Provide benchmarking research to support continued development of best practices for advising program, resource utilization, and service improvements.</li> <li>Collaborate with marketing and branding team (College Marketing) to produce and deliver multi-media content for print and online distribution (website, blogs, and social media) to promote CCD programs and services.</li> <li>Support data collection efforts related to employer engagement and satisfaction, student engagement and satisfaction, and student internship and employment outcomes.</li> <li>Represent CCD on various committees and serve as liaison to specific departments. including student leadership, clubs &amp; organizations, and Athletics. As a career development expert, shares Babson best practices with internal external community through presentations, publishing, and event attendance.</li> <li>Contribute to the marketing of CCD to increase visibility and brand awareness and to inform the College community about career initiatives. Authors and edits department publications and electronic correspondence to internal audiences.</li> <li>Assumes responsibility for the ongoing development, management, and execution of special projects and programs as determined by the Director.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul> &nbsp;<br /><br /> <p><strong>YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE</strong></p> <p>Graduate Assistants</p>
Requirements: <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Education, Counseling, or Business strongly preferred.</strong></li> <li>A <strong>minimum of 4-6 years of increasingly responsible experience within the career development field.</strong></li> <li>Knowledge of <strong>best practices in career development</strong> and the ability to tailor, adapt and evolve a College to Career strategy to best meet the needs of Babson students.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>establish, track, measure, and deliver value-added program results.</strong></li> <li>Ability to <strong>work across internal and external programs/departments/constituencies</strong> and manage multiple projects/programs.</li> <li>Must have a <strong>high level of resourcefulness, influence/organizational savvy and execution skills</strong> (strategy through implementation).</li> <li>Must have <strong>excellent oral and written communication skills</strong>; solid presentation, marketing, and counseling skills; and <strong>strong customer service orientation.</strong></li> <li>Must have strong supervisory skills and <strong>ability to influence and motivate others.</strong></li> <li>Must <strong>have excellent interpersonal skills, engages and builds effective relationships</strong> with internal and external constituents.</li> <li>An <strong>entrepreneurial orientation</strong>, proven track record of taking initiative and making things happen (self-starter).</li> <li>Must be a <strong>team player</strong> and have the ability to <strong>establish creditability and confidence</strong> with stakeholders.</li> <li>Demonstrated capability in <strong>leading and participating effectively in teams</strong> and team-oriented environments.</li> <li>Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&amp;A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>anticipate</strong> and <strong>embrace</strong> <strong>change</strong>; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong computer skills</strong> including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and career development software and platforms.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in corporate environments preferred.</li> <li>Experience with curriculum development and career education programming preferred.</li> <li>Project management/event planning experience preferred.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s Degree preferred.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK</strong></p> <p>Evenings (average 1/week) and occasional weekends.</p>
