Overview: The Associate Director is responsible for working closely with numerous constituencies to enhance Babson&rsquo;s relationship with its 42,000+ alumni through an integrated engagement and giving strategy that relies heavily on class-based engagement, including volunteer recruitment and management as well as cross-campus collaborations. Specifically responsible for managing young alumni initiatives, promoting a culture of philanthropy among students, and overseeing the senior and graduate class gifts.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Contribute to, and execute, departmental strategy for class-based engagement and giving with a focus on select student groups and young alumni.</li> <li>Develop, recommend, and implement appropriate strategies for engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding BOLD/young alumni.</li> <li>Build comprehensive BOLD class agent program. Recruit, train and steward volunteers from each of the last ten classes to achieve Advancement engagement and participation goals. Identify, recruit, and engage a core group of volunteers with a particular focus on undergraduate 5th and 10th reunion years. Collaborate with the Director, Alumni Strategic Projects &amp; Operations and Senior Associate Director, Class Engagement &amp; Annual Giving on the execution of Back to Babson/Reunion programming, including the zero-year reunion.</li> <li>Work with class-based volunteers, focusing on those within 10 years of graduation, on programs and initiatives; oversee event logistics coordination with the Events Management Office. Coordinate and contribute to pre- and post-event communications and reporting.</li> <li>Manage the College Advancement Ambassadors (CAAs) Program, including student recruitment, selection, and training. Direct CAAs&rsquo; participation in initiatives that both support Advancement&rsquo;s fundraising campaigns and foster student engagement with philanthropy efforts. Oversee Babson Traditions programming efforts led by CAAs.</li> <li>Direct and manage a robust senior giving program, including the recruitment of seniors as ambassadors of philanthropy to the College. Compile metrics to report out on Senior Class Gift engagement.</li> <li>Partner with Associate Director, Student Engagement to support planning and implementation of senior programming, including Senior Week activities.</li> <li>Serve as the primary department liaison to the Graduate School and the Graduate Student Council. Support graduate student leaders and their programming efforts. Serve as the Alumni staff liaison to the Global Entrepreneurship Forum helping to identify and recruit speakers and to promote the forum to alumni and friends. Serve as advisor to the Veterans Club, guiding programming and aiding with logistics and managing passive programming efforts.</li> <li>Manage core group of volunteers to execute Graduate Class Gift. Compile metrics to report out on Graduate Class Gift engagement.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain a portfolio of volunteers for cultivation and solicitation in support of Advancement&rsquo;s annual participation goals.&nbsp;Direct affinity volunteers to engage fellow alumni as both donors and ambassadors in support of the Babson&rsquo;s annual signature fundraising campaigns &ndash; Make Your Mark, Barefoot Challenge, Days of Giving, and 3-2-1 Countdown.</li> <li>Create a robust and active social media presence in partnership with the Assistant Director, Advancement Communications to promote class-based programming and reunion/reunion giving as appropriate to each class.</li> <li>Manage graduating student initiatives, including 100 Days to Graduation, Champagne Toast and ticketing portion of Commencement Clearance Process, and First Year OUTreach.</li> <li>Collaborate with Classes, Affinity Programs &amp; Annual Giving team, and Stewardship to develop a robust plan to ensure class and affinity-based volunteers are cultivated and stewarded.</li> <li>Serve as the department liaison for student leadership engagement.</li> <li>Provide volunteer training as needed.</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree.</strong></li> <li>Must have at least <strong>6-8 years of experience</strong> in a related field.</li> <li>Ability to understand and implement the strategic initiatives of the College.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong volunteer management skills</strong> and a strong interest in volunteerism with the ability to translate that to others.</li> <li>Must show <strong>global competency</strong>, genuine interest in cultural explorations, and a willingness to engage in active learning that enhances professional development and competencies.</li> <li>Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and must be able to build relationships with a wide variety of individuals across many different cultures and levels.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to <strong>work collaboratively with governance members, students, faculty, staff, and individuals from different cultures.</strong></li> <li>Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>facilitate introductions</strong> for Development Officers to new prospects, discovered through research or personal connections as well as to speak to fundraising priorities.</li> <li>Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&amp;A; work independently to solve problems; look for opportunities to take on responsibility; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>anticipate</strong> and <strong>embrace</strong> <strong>change</strong>; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> <li>Must have <strong>strong computer skills</strong> including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) as well as ability to work with the College&rsquo;s website in terms of updating and development.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>All Babson College faculty and staff authorized to work on campus must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, <a href="" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">including any appropriate boosters</a>.
