Overview: The IT Communications &amp; Training Lead is responsible for the creation, management, maintenance, and delivery of technical (IT-related) communications, documentation, knowledge base, portal content, and training material for the benefit of employees, students, alumni, and other identified constituent groups. This includes developing and implementing processes for capturing, organizing, and sharing information; creating and maintaining training material and documentation on IT systems, processes, etc.; providing training and support to users; working with college departments to identify technical training and documentation needs; and ensuring that information is delivered through appropriate channels to provide a valuable resource for employees and students to enhance their technical skill and knowledge.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Support, create, and distribute IT-related communications to employees, students, and other constituent groups related to 100+ IT strategic and operational projects (in consultation of functional offices as required).</li> <li>Identify technical training needs (i.e., One Drive, SharePoint, Webex) and deliver training 1:1, in small groups, and to the community; orient and train new employees.</li> <li>Collaborate with Human Resources on training and communication needs that overlap between the departments (i.e., new employee onboarding).</li> <li>Create and maintain documentation for IT resources and services available in the knowledge base, portal, and websites.</li> <li>Ensure that IT-related information is up-to-date, accurate, and user-friendly.</li> <li>Develop and implement processes for capturing, organizing, and sharing information through collaboration with IT, functional departments, and end users.</li> <li>Track and measure the effectiveness of IT-related content on college-wide channels; make recommendations for improvement.</li> <li>In collaboration with College Marketing, ensure content is developed within college-wide brand guidelines.</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor's degree in technical training, writing, communications, or a related field</strong>.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must have <strong>at least 3+ years of experience in technical content management and designing technical content and/or course material</strong>.</li> <li>Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Must have an <strong>understanding of technical concepts and terminology and ability to quickly learn about emerging technologies independently.</strong></li> <li>Experience with content management systems, knowledge bases, and/or portal.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>work independently and as part of a team</strong>.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.</li> <li>Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support ET&amp;A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to <strong>anticipate and embrace change</strong>; demonstrate willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Occasional nights and weekend work required.</li> <li>Requires work onsite several days a week for in person meetings and trainings; the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with web-based knowledge platforms (i.e., Salesforce) and modern educational techniques a plus.</li> <li>Experience with social media, video production, and marketing is a plus.</li> </ul>
