Overview: The Skating School Instructor is responsible for providing skating instruction to students following the Learn to Skate USA program.<br /><br /> <p>This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $32.00. This position includes paid sick leave where required by law. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Responsible for reporting to all scheduled classes and having lesson plans prepared prior to class start.</li> <li>Follows Learn to Skate Program and Learn to Play Program requirements and formats.</li> <li>Keeps accurate attendance records on all students.</li> <li>Notifies supervisor if any accidents occur and brings the student to the first aid room.</li> <li>Completes periodic evaluations for students to ensure proper level assignment.</li> <li>Answers parent questions and performs equipment checks as requested.</li> <li>Assumes additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Learn to Skate USA membership required.</li> <li>Minimum Level of Education Required: None Required; Professional Skating Instructor continuing education preferred.</li> <li>Minimum Level of Experience Required: Coaching experience preferred, but not required.</li> <li>Working Conditions: Ability to lift 50-75 pounds.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u>Additional Required Skills and Abilities:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Strong customer service skills.</li> </ul>
