Overview: The Assistant Area Coordinator works directly with the professional Residence Life Staff, Resident Assistants, and on campus students and will provide support to the Area Coordinator in a particular residential area on campus.<br /><br />This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $23.00. This position includes paid sick leave where required by law. Eligibility, accrual, and usage will follow applicable state and local regulations.<br />&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage the day-to-day operations of a specific residence hall or residence&nbsp;halls of students living in college housing.</li> <li>Directly supervise and evaluate 5-7 Resident Assistants (RA).</li> <li>Assist with the overall development, planning, and implementation of&nbsp;programming pertaining to Residence Life&rsquo;s residential curriculum.</li> <li>Assist Area Coordinator with managing area budget.</li> <li>Participate in the administrator on-call rotation for approximately three weeks per semester and actively respond to a wide range of crises situations.</li> <li>Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of RA trainings, in-services, and RA selection via departmental committee structure.</li> <li>Serve as a student conduct hearing officer and hear cases as assigned by Community Standards.</li> <li>Assist with RA recognition efforts.</li> <li>Provide office support by working 5 hours per week at the front desk of the Student Life Suite assisting with housing-related projects.</li> <li>Liaise and collaborate with campus partners including Facilities, Wellness,&nbsp;and Student Conduct.</li> <li>Supports Housing Operations with move-in/move-out.</li> <li>Attend weekly professional staff meetings (date and time TBD) and weekly&nbsp;student staff meetings from 4:30-6:30pm on Monday nights.</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities as required.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Resident Assistants</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree required and must be a matriculated graduate student.</li> <li>Enrollment in a CSP, Counseling, or Higher Education Administration&nbsp;program preferred. Non-matriculated students engaged in appropriate&nbsp;coursework may be considered.</li> <li>Must&nbsp;demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and autonomously.</li> <li>Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li> <li>Must&nbsp;maintain a positive attitude and represent the College and Department&nbsp;appropriately.</li> <li>Ability to envision and propose new methods to perform tasks that support.</li> <li>ET&amp;A; take thoughtful risks; and accept new and ongoing initiatives,&nbsp;objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.</li> <li>Ability to&nbsp;anticipate and embrace change; demonstrate willingness to&nbsp;achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible&nbsp;in changing conditions.</li> <li>Must have&nbsp;strong technology skills&nbsp;including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).<br />&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK</strong></p> <ul> <li>Willing to work evening and weekends as required; live-on position; must serve on-call&nbsp;rotation.</li> <li>This is a live-on, 10-month (Monday, July 20, 2026 &ndash; Friday, May 21, 2027 (38 working&nbsp;weeks)), part time (14-20 hours per week) position within Babson College&rsquo;s Office of Residence Life. Graduate student follows the break dates of their academic program&nbsp;(Thanksgiving break, winter break and spring break).</li> <li>This position includes an on-campus apartment (either individual or shared apartment)&nbsp;within a residence hall and a taxable meal plan. This position is for one academic year.<br />&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prior residence life experience, a positive attitude and awareness of social&nbsp;justice principles are preferred.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
