Overview: Supervise and support the Transportation department functions, staff, and field locations, to meet the needs/goals of the department and the company. Working safely is part of our culture and is a condition of employment.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Lead, develop, coach, and manage the Traffic team to perform at an optimal level. Administer timely reviews per required company guidelines.</li> <li>Responsible for services sourcing support, hiring, training, and managing personnel levels required to successfully manage day-to-day operations within the department.</li> <li>Determine best practices, write and audit SOPs, implement and support SOP usage, and administrator role determination (SAP and Structure).</li> <li>Administrate training to include facilitation, coordinating capacity support.</li> <li>Develop new training initiatives, recommendations, and develop or obtain training materials.</li> <li>Lead and assist projects and implementation for Distribution and Transportation projects.</li> <li>Act as business team leads on transportation-related SAP projects. Order to cash process</li> <li>Provide updates on projects, processes and SOPs, and upcoming improvement initiatives.</li> <li>Responsible for master data accuracy and maintenance in the transportation module.</li> <li>Provide and validate the following reports for the executive team: open orders, Un-Vouchered freight payables, tolerance, fuel, shipment building/execution, AOP Monthly Savings, and KPI reports</li> <li>Work closely with Operations leadership to establish strategic plans focused on improving efficiencies and driving out cost, introducing new technologies that bring new capabilities to the transportation and operations team.</li> <li>MOS &ndash; Deploy MOS tools into daily practice in all applicable areas of the Transportation Administration team.</li> <li>Assist in managing to source, developing, on-boarding carrier/service providers, and maintaining the provider relationships in all locations.</li> <li>Assists in the supervision of the on-time performance of the company&rsquo;s service providers.</li> <li>Responsible for ensuring DOT/FMCSA compliance</li> <li>Lead all traffic administrative team functions for both domestic and international shipping (of any mode), within the established parameters.</li> <li>Support and participate in Freight Rate Analysis and all other analyses and reports to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of reports or analysis.</li> <li>Oversee team to ensure the following reports at the weekly freight budget meeting are provided: spend to date, estimated vs. actual month spend, and any other reports as necessary.</li> <li>Ensure that all carrier&rsquo;s accounts payable invoices and inquiries are handled and processed timely and ensure (UVFP) Un-Voucher Freight Payable functions are always current.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Experience and Education:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Educational attainment equivalent to a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business Administration, or equivalent transportation/logistics, or management experience or related field or equivalent work experience</li> <li>Experience in GL management, transportation, logistics, analytics, is preferred</li> <li>1-2 years of supervisory experience is preferred</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</strong><br /><br /><strong>Required:</strong><br />&bull; Communication, presentation, budgeting, and project management skills<br />&bull; Robust documentation and organizational skills<br />&bull; Knowledge of MS Office Suites, Excel, and/or software applications related to job functions<br />&bull; Contract Management skills are essential<br /><strong><br />Preferred:</strong><br />&bull; Management principles, supervisory techniques<br />&bull; Broad knowledge of transportation &ldquo;best practices&rdquo; and standard business practices as it relates to shipping goods by all modes of transportation.<br />&bull; Knowledge of Federal and State Department of Transportation and Environmental regulations
