Overview: <ul> <li>Conduct basic and applied research in architectural coatings and additives.</li> <li>Develop new products and refine existing products. Participate in the product development process in the R&amp;D department.</li> <li>Benchmark existing products against competition as per standard test protocols &amp; conduct frequent sample audit testing of production batches of our commercial products.</li> <li>Prepare, test, and compare experimental samples. Conduct artificial weathering &amp; natural exposure studies to evaluate coatings performance in terms of weathering properties.</li> <li>Monitor different weathering instruments to run standard test protocols.</li> <li>Evaluate paint&rsquo;s application performance, conduct comparison studies, and provide feedback to improve performance.</li> <li>Substantiate, review, and justify conclusions reached by department activity.</li> <li>Awareness about new upcoming trends &amp; technologies.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Literature survey and understanding latest developments in emulsions, additives, and coatings market.</li> <li>Conduct competitive benchmarking product analyses and provide essential inputs on product performance gaps and advantages to help the company build new product development strategies.</li> <li>Direct and lead activity to develop new technologies &amp; test methods/standards as per the company strategy.</li> <li>Ability to analyze the data, test results, and report the conclusions effectively.</li> <li>Substantiate, review and justify conclusions reached by Research and Development department activity.</li> <li>Awareness about different substrates such as wood, concrete, masonry.</li> <li>Initiate studies to improve the performance of existing products.</li> <li>Direct raw material evaluation tests and product performance studies including exposure &amp; application studies.</li> <li>Select, test, and evaluate new raw materials to determine their quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness of materials.</li> <li>Provide leadership and guidance to Junior Chemists and Senior Lab Technicians to include training and monitoring of performance and in assigning more challenging projects.</li> <li>Conduct competitive benchmarking product analyses and develop product development strategies.</li> <li>Work on new test method development &amp; technologies.</li> <li>Participation in BPRC Ideation Program Follow lab safety guidelines and regulations.</li> <li>Expect a high level of self-motivation and excellent communication skills.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Educational attainment equivalent to an advanced degree in Chemistry or a related field</li> <li>Thorough experience in chemical analysis and industrial research applications</li> <li>Educational attainment equivalent to M.Sc., B.
