Overview: <p>The qualified candidate will be a well-rounded communicator, display a customer service mindset and an in-depth knowledge of the fitness industry. The Director of Fitness will be responsible for member fitness evaluations and selling/executing personal training sessions. Our fitness center features strength and cardio machines, a free weight area, Peloton bikes, a massage room, Yoga and we are adding additional group fitness classes in the coming months.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Job Tasks/Duties</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must have an up-to-date nationally accredited personal training certification</li> <li>Must have a current First aid/CPR AED certification</li> <li>Must be able to deliver group/individual personal training sessions</li> <li>Comfortable approaching members throughout the club in order to better assist them with proper form and make further suggestions for exercises</li> <li>Must be passionate about health and fitness</li> <li>Positive attitude and ability to work well both independently and with a team</li> <li>Desire to educate clients on functional movement for the benefit of their long-term health</li> <li>Self-motivated</li> <li>Enforces club rules of safety and conduct</li> <li>Arranges a program of and schedule for private and group fitness training classes</li> <li>Keeps attendance record of members attending training sessions</li> <li>Assists in rendering First Aid according to the standards established by the American Red Cross and American Heart Association</li> <li>Provides fitness-related information for club newsletter</li> <li>Helps maintain fitness equipment in coordination with the club&rsquo;s maintenance department</li> <li>Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the General Manager</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment</strong></p> <ul> <li>Able to work in a busy, noisy environment</li> <li>Able to lift and move fitness equipment and maintain gym facility</li> <li>Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position</li> <li>Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping and pulling</li> <li>Frequent repetitive motions</li> <li>Continuous standing and walking</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Licenses and Special Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>CPR/AED and at least one nationally accredited certification such N.A.S.M., N.S.C.A., A.C.S.M., A.C.E., or A.F.A.A.</li> <li>Previous fitness management experience</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills required</li> <li>Must be capable of working collegially with a diverse group of members on a daily basis</li> <li>Prior experience in personal training and/or group fitness</li> <li>High school diploma required</li> <li>Four year degree in related field is a plus</li> <li>Physical effort required to carry out daily duties such as lifting supplies and gym equipment potentially in excess of 50lbs</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Personal Training: 2 years</li> <li>Country Club: 1 year</li> </ul>
