In this role, you&rsquo;ll handle preventative maintenance, respond to resident maintenance requests, and ensure the community is safe, functional, and welcoming.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Maintain and repair community systems, including HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generators, kitchen equipment, and emergency pull cord systems.</li> <li>Perform general maintenance projects, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and equipment repair.</li> <li>Respond to resident maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.</li> <li>Maintain vacated rooms, including painting, cleaning, and minor repairs.</li> <li>Ensure common areas are properly maintained, including walls, flooring, doors, and woodwork.</li> <li>Maintain positive communication with local fire marshals, building inspectors, and other regulatory agencies.</li> <li>Assess plumbing and electrical problems and determine the best course of action.</li> <li>Document safety issues and physical deficiencies according to local, state, and federal guidelines.</li> <li>Respond appropriately to emergencies, assisting management as needed.</li> <li>Foster teamwork and maintain a positive impact on residents, visitors, and coworkers.</li> <li>Report any suspected elder maltreatment or abuse to the Director of Health and Wellness, Executive Director, and/or State.</li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li> <li>1&ndash;3 years of related experience in building maintenance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> <li>Knowledge of building systems and codes, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.</li> <li>Valid state driver&rsquo;s license required for vehicle travel.</li> <li>Must meet all health requirements, including TB clearance.</li> <li>First Aid certification required.</li> <li>Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.</li> <li>Strong communication skills with residents, families, and team members.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.</li> <li>Applies common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.</li> <li>Pleasant, professional, and personable demeanor.</li> </ul>
