Overview: <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Primary objective is to work as a part of the Bloomfield Hills Country Club service team and to assist in setting us apart from other private clubs by providing exemplary service to our membership and their guests.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Set up necessary areas to ensure effective service of our facilities.&nbsp; Serve tables, adhering to stated standards.&nbsp; Clean dining and/or banquet rooms and all effected areas related to service of functions.&nbsp; Continually seek to enhance knowledge and skills related to service of our membership.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><br /><br /></p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Job Duties:</strong></p> <p>Serves as a positive role model by:</p> <ul> <li>Adhering to the same standards of service and behavior that peers are required &nbsp;to uphold.</li> <li>Maintaining a positive and friendly demeanor at all times.</li> <li>Working with peers to meet member&rsquo;s needs.</li> <li>Representing the Club in its relationships with members and guests.</li> <li>Service Standards:</li> <li>Ensure polished tabletop prior to guest arrival.&nbsp; This requires silverware to be straight, plates, glassware, salt &amp; pepper to be clean and respective items to be full at all times.</li> <li>Side work completion: 100% of your assigned side work must be completed before, during and at the conclusion of your shift.</li> <li>Ensure guest greeting immediately once being seated.</li> <li>Take member cocktail and menu orders promptly: actively educate members &amp; guests on menu, food preparation techniques, ingredients, and beverage selections.</li> <li>Take food order by acquiring all necessary information.&nbsp; i.e. bread type, toasted/not toasted, side items, special requests, condiments, temperature, etc.</li> <li>Input into point of sale system, including all details of the order to expedite service time.</li> <li>Ensure timely service.&nbsp; This requires ALL orders to be input/sent through the point of sale system to the kitchen prior to soup/salad service.</li> <li>Quality check:&nbsp; check back with table after delivering any course &ndash; This should be done within 2 minutes</li> <li>Maintain service etiquette. While at a table, this includes:&nbsp; all food served from the left and removed from the right; cocktails served and removed from the right; children and ladies are served first; napkins are folded and placed on table for guests away from table, flatware is replaced when necessary.&nbsp; All beverage deliveries require the use of a tray, silverware carried in a napkin or on tray, all items are to be carried above the waist at all times.</li> <li>Table Maintenance.&nbsp; You are required to maintain a clean appearance for all of your assigned tables.&nbsp; As service progresses, all necessary items should be present and unnecessary items removed.&nbsp; This includes removal of: empty glasses, straws, picks, debris, unnecessary condiments and silverware.&nbsp; You are ultimately responsible for the appearance of your tables at all times.</li> <li>Pours and refills wine, coffee, water and/or other beverages served with and after meal.</li> <li>Must refrain from leaning, congregating, and partaking in inappropriate conversation.&nbsp; Maintain Professionalism At All Times!</li> <li>English is the only accepted language while the Club is in operation and you are on the clock.&nbsp; If there is a lack of understanding with direction/requests, please approach your manager and we will do our best to clarify such directions or work with the appropriate translation.</li> <li>Section Maintenance:&nbsp; You are required to maintain a clean appearance for your section and surrounding areas.&nbsp; Your area includes all physical items that could be affected by service or guest use, for example:&nbsp; floors, banisters, tray jacks, etc.</li> <li>During large Club events; ensure tables are promptly bussed and reset as soon as members leave.&nbsp; Work closely with server assistants, hosts/hostesses and manger to insure prompt turn.</li> <li>Help fellow servers with their tables/duties as needed to insure services are ready to meet/exceed guest expectations.</li> <li>Leave work area only when side-work has been checked out by your supervisor.</li> <li>Any additional tasks as seen fit by supervisors or management.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Results on which performance will be evaluated include, but are not limited to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Being attentive to the needs of the members</li> <li>Work as a TEAM employee</li> <li>Proficiency of job knowledge</li> <li>Maintaining good hygiene and professional appearance</li> <li>Enforcing Club policies and rules</li> <li>Maintaining a professional image</li> <li>Behavior and language</li> </ul> <p><strong>Primary Financial Responsibilities</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Maintaining all billing accuracy for your individual chits</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to work holidays, nights and week-ends</li> <li>Ability and desire to withstand prolonged periods of standing, walking</li> <li>Position requires bending, reaching, twisting and lifting trays and linen (weighing up to 30 lbs.)</li> <li>Ability and desire to maintain a positive and friendly demeanor at all times</li> </ul> <p><strong>Position Knowledge/Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain / acquire complete level of knowledge and skills to enter a guest chit into the Jonas computer system.</li> <li>Must have excellent knowledge of beverage service.</li> <li>Must have excellent food menu knowledge.</li> <li>Must be proficient and knowledgeable about daily specials, soups of the day, etc.</li> <li>Professionalism</li> <li>Treats guests, peers, and supervisors with dignity and respect.</li> <li>Always wearing a crisp, clean and complete uniform</li> <li>Ensures guests are treated with equal attention and consideration from guest arrival to guest departure.</li> <li>Treat Club&rsquo;s physical property with care.</li> </ul>
