Competitive Total Compensation Package

Overview: This position will be responsible for identifying areas of potential improvement in the existing FPA processes, as well as working on new initiatives, and working with others to develop and implement best practices for these areas. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, modeling, financial/accounting and communication skills, as well an ability to understand and develop end-to-end processes. Must be able to think creatively about future state development and problem resolution, and be able to evaluate, prioritize and make recommendations about options.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Function as the central contact for designated financial system platforms (e.g. Hyperion, Essbase) and related enterprise&nbsp;products which may include data maintenance, business rules and formula development, structural interfaces, security maintenance, systems integration, inquiry administration, vendor management development and presentation of updates to senior leadership.</li> <li>Conduct analysis on enterprise and segment financial data to assess trends, variance and scenario planning and present results and recommendations to senior leadership and segment owners to conduct strategic planning.</li> <li>Manage multiple projects including the development and implementation of strategic cross functional project plans including tasks, timelines, resources, roles, responsibilities, testing, communication and training for financial system enhancements.</li> <li>Regularly review and develop recommendations for improvement of designated system (e.g. Hyperion) structure and reports; present recommendations to finance senior leadership.</li> <li>Assess the financial reporting needs of the segment and functional areas through leadership engagement to understand the necessary enhancements and utilize financial reporting systems to create, update and deliver consistent financial reporting solutions to business leadership. Serve as liaison between IT and Finance for role development, responsibilities and system guidelines.</li> <li>Design, develop and deliver all financial system documentation and support including desk procedures, user support material and end user training.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT or related field required. MBA preferred.</li> <li>Five to Seven years of experience in Accounting/Finance in the health insurance industry.</li> <li>Accounting / Finance certification preferred (i.e., CPA, CMA, CFM)</li> <li>Three years of experience in Hyperion planning and strategic finance applications, and Essbase.</li> <li>One year of experience in Oracle Data Integrator and leading cross functional projects with enterprise scope.</li> </ul> <p><strong>OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of financial transactions flow and corresponding financial statement impact.</li> <li>Demonstrated aptitude for development of flow charts, process flows, project plans, problem solving, solution creation and generation of contributions to business.</li> <li>Ability to develop and adhere to project plans, direct resources and manage multiple and changing priorities.</li> <li>Proficient in current industry and standard PC application systems (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) and Hyperion.</li> <li>Experience applying technology to business problems, structuring recommendations for system configuration and design and execute test plans. Sufficient technical knowledge to successfully communicate requirements and solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.</li> </ul>
