Overview: <strong><span style="font-size: small;">Develop and maintain established relationships with assigned Senior and Executive leaders. Establish access, credibility and trust to optimize the value realized during the procurement process and through the acquisition of goods and services.&nbsp; Influence strategic purchasing decisions, through early and consistent involvement with key business decision makers, knowledge and support of business strategies and objectives, enterprise alignment, and a solid working knowledge of procurement operations and adjacent functions, e.g. legal.</span></strong>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage relationships and directly coordinate with business units to understand their goals, objectives, strategies, industry, requirements and future directions while aligning enterprise objectives and core activities including compliance, funding market demands, customer needs and set budget targets.</li> <li>Provide regular status updates regarding key sourcing and procurement activities and vendor management best practices opportunities to senior business leadership. Provide guidance and support around procurement/acquisition processes.</li> <li>Assist in the navigation of acquisitions through standard procurement processes, including those with compliance, legal, and considerable financial impact.</li> <li>Influence multi-year contractual obligations with significant financial and operational considerations. Consider long term business direction, strategic opportunities, key supplier relationships and high spend categories that are critical to operational and/or strategic success. Identify and define key future cost savings opportunities, leveraging enterprise spend and supplier, sourcing opportunities, and procurement strategies that support corporate goals and objectives.</li> <li>Align and secure executive approval and sponsorship for new procurement opportunities with identified stakeholders.</li> <li>Assess and encourage supplier diversity opportunities with senior leadership.</li> <li>Understand and communicate procurement policies and procedures to senior leadership.</li> <li>Monitor and analyze data and trends to identify opportunities, issues, and needs that may impact business results.</li> <li>Support vendor management programs through periodic reviews and continuous improvement initiatives for key suppliers.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related field required.</li> <li>Five (5) years procurement experience required.&nbsp; Working knowledge of the procure-to-pay lifecycle, supply chain, and industry analysis and impact on acquisitions.</li> <li>Leadership experience in two (2) or more procurement operation functions; sourcing, contracting, and vendor management, etc. required.</li> <li>Two (2) years project management experience required.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to establish relationships to deliver effective and timely client procurement solutions.</li> <li>Demonstrated successful achievement of cost savings.</li> <li>Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certification preferred.</li> <li>Institute of Supply Management (I.S.M.) affiliation preferred.</li> <li>Advanced decision making and critical thinking skills.</li> <li>Advanced negotiation skills required</li> <li>Strong project management skills which include issue identification, documentation, and status report</li> <li>Intermediate level consulting and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Intermediate skills in current industry standard PC applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).</li> <li>Ability to exhibit exemplary behaviors consistent with Act Decisively, Influence, Foster Innovation, and an emphasis on Reach Out and Be Aligned.</li> <li>Ability to understand, balance and apply industry, enterprise and business demands, drivers and goals, and their ability to support and/or influence leader in making value-based acquisitions.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Department Preferences:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced level consulting and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Advanced verbal and written communication skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Advanced skills in current industry standard PC applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).</li> <li>Excellent follow up skills.</li> </ul>
