Overview: <p><strong>In this role, you&rsquo;ll be front and center in helping to manage the process to fund innovation while monitoring execution as ideas comes to life. </strong></p> <p><strong>This team is all about balancing innovation and ideation to move the business forward, all within a performance management culture focused on disciplined execution. </strong></p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>What the Performance Manager does:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Individual performer&nbsp;who engages with executive leadership as a performance and portfolio management consultant to the business.&nbsp;</li> <li>Supports and upholds the planning and performance management processes for Health Plan Business,&nbsp;a market-facing and revenue-generating&nbsp;business unit&nbsp;within Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.</li> <li>Provides oversight to process management within the performance management team and conducts analyses to identify risks and provides data-driven insights as well as ongoing reporting to drive action.</li> <li>Monitors initiative and portfolio performance against targeted goals, highlights risks as needed when performance is off track and provides recommendations for improvement. Ensures project timing, funding, operating gain, benefit cost savings etc. are aligned with expectations in support of the accountability model.</li> <li>Prepares, coordinates and facilitates a regular cadence of meetings with executives and other work stream stakeholders and drives risk-based updates, reporting and committed action.</li> <li>Assists leadership in analyzing qualitative problems related to the performance management process and help craft and implement solutions in a timely manner.</li> <li>Prepares reports and presentation materials for team and senior leadership meetings.</li> <li>Maintain knowledge and comprehensive understanding of resources and systems utilized.</li> <li>Conducts user training and onboarding for new team members.</li> <li>Collaborates with internal team members to brainstorm, implement and maintain process and project improvements.</li> <li>Other duties may be assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: What the Performance Manager candidates bring:<br /><br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Master's Degree in related field considered a plus.</li> <li>5+ years of experience in related field including experience in a leadership role.</li> <li>4+ years of related work experience in analytics, reporting and/or consulting.</li> <li>Previous experience with project management is strongly preferred.</li> <li>Ability to document decisions and action items from meetings and determine implications on future work priorities.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment under general direction.</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail with ability to manage and keep pace with multiple parallel processes.</li> <li>Ability to develop and leverage strong working relationships with colleagues to manage key processes efficiently.</li> <li>Strong financial literacy.</li> <li>Proficient with Excel and skills to drive essential analytics.</li> <li>Proficient with PowerPoint and skills to create presentation-ready slides.</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present well in key forums.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
