Oversee the development of corporate standards, technology architecture, technology evaluation, and transfer.<br /><br /> <p><strong>Departmental Summary:</strong></p> <p>Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is currently seeking a Manager position for our Detroit location. This individual will be responsible for understanding the current Infrastructure and tools in the Informatics Environment hosted in AWS and provide administrative and operations support. The primary job responsibilities include managing incident support from IT and business users and managing deployments for applications hosted in Informatics Environment.</p> <p>A key focus for this management position will be to provide leadership for day-to-day operations of the Data Analytics cloud environment and IT infrastructure. Manage platform infrastructure activities, &nbsp;project estimations and costs, new technology onboarding to PaaS and IaaS cloud service offerings. In addition, this role will be responsible for the operational excellence of the Informatics Platform Management team.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <div>Manage the delivery of one or more IT services required to support the IT strategy.&nbsp; Contribute to the development of an IT strategy.</div> </li> <li> <div>Provide clarity on objectives, scope, and organizational change management.&nbsp; Provide input to business technology planning.&nbsp; Manage IT technology solutions to ensure successful fulfillment of end-user requirements, proper and accurate testing, and sound implementation.&nbsp; Deliver solutions consistent within the current context of the overall architecture.&nbsp; Maintain and control budget, schedule, and resources.&nbsp; Meet regularly with the team to gather work statuses.</div> </li> <li> <div>Participate in an advisory board/governance committee (e.g., change management, architecture, data quality) to manage IT services demand.&nbsp; Provide input into the demand management process and executes on the plan.&nbsp; Ensure compliance with enterprise technology standards, governance processes, and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise.&nbsp; Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standards.</div> </li> <li> <div>Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output. Measure service performance.&nbsp; Identify opportunities for process improvements and then implement them. Support the user community in system and process matters/issues.&nbsp; Ensure efficient customer service to internal clients and external vendors.</div> </li> <li> <div>Forecast and manage technology costs by providing input into annual budget planning and provides for consolidation.&nbsp; Manage budget and take appropriate steps to stay within budget.</div> </li> <li> <div>Discuss work progress and obstacles. Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field required.</li> <li>Seven (7) years of relevant IT and business/industry work experience required.</li> <li>Experience in supervising and building relationships with people at all levels required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Decision making, critical and strategic thinking skills ability to achieve or exceed planned outcomes.</li> <li>Must possess a combination of business, technical and leadership skills and competencies understanding of client's business needs, processes, and functions</li> <li>Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, architecture, application development and support, networks, and computer operations</li> <li>Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence others.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to launch and deliver a single IT project on time and within budget.</li> <li>Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a collaborative manner.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Departmental Preferences:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide hands-on project management for strategic department initiatives, effort, timeline, cost, resource allocation, solution delivery, and implementation</li> <li>Oversee operations support for the department on a 24x7 basis, with on-call support during off-hours for initial response to disruptions, outages, and incidents</li> <li>Support production applications and infrastructure change utilizing support tools including Incident Management, RCA/Problem Management, SLAs, production support, standards, and best practices for the technology organization</li> <li>Manage and support production deployments in Cloudera stack following the Enterprise Release Management and Change Management process.</li> <li>Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures on AWS cloud</li> <li>Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements in the cloud environment.</li> <li>Has a good understanding of DevOps and related tools like Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Extensive experience with scheduling, budgeting, and project planning in an environment with aggressive delivery goals.</li> <li>Communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances and achieve desired results using strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills. Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.</li> </ul>
