Overview: <p><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>Department Summary:</strong></span></p> <div><span style="font-size: small;">The Lean Specialist is a professional in the early stages of their career who seeks development as a consultant and will possess relevant industry, subject matter or academic experience.&nbsp; You should have the desire to work in a consulting environment with the goal of progressing to a consultant role.&nbsp; You will be asked to work and communicate with all levels of an organization, primarily from director down to line-level positions.&nbsp; Occasional exposure to executives may be required in select circumstances.&nbsp; You may work on an independent basis, but will primarily support consultant led projects by supplying analytical analysis while learning the business and culture of the company.&nbsp; Your work may also include involvement in multiple project work streams, small engagement teams or components of larger, more complex engagements.&nbsp; You will primarily interface with project leadership and other consultants, with occasional exposure to company leadership. &nbsp;As a member of the Continuous Improvement department, you will display the capacity and desire for&nbsp;professional&nbsp;continuous improvement and growth.&nbsp; This position also requires the ability to deal with uncertainty in a changing environment, often with little or no direction.&nbsp; Leveraging a hypothesis-driven approach and detailed analysis, you will help to derive solutions that will be captured within an effective storyline.&nbsp; Problem and conflict resolution and negotiation ability are developing skills.</span></div> <div><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></div> <div><span style="font-size: small;">As a Lean Specialist, your responsibilities will include managing your own work and deliverables, and performing rigorous analysis from which meaningful insights can be developed.&nbsp; You may develop plans relevant to your own work and coordinate project activities with other teammates.&nbsp; You may participate in formulation of both tactical and strategic recommendations for business improvement.&nbsp; The projects that you work on will be complex, cross-functional engagements with a variety of possible outcomes to be evaluated for effectiveness.&nbsp; The subject matter of projects can be very broad, from those that require in-depth data analysis, to those that address corporate structure, direction or policy. &nbsp;Examples include: process cost identification, future-state design, organizational re-structuring, administrative cost reduction, and process efficiency.&nbsp; You will also be responsible for participating in development and delivery of select components of succinct and insightful presentations to company leadership.&nbsp; The opportunity to interact with company leadership will provide you with emerging insight into company challenges and opportunities as well as in the larger health care and insurance industry.</span></div>
Responsibilities: <p><span style="font-size: small;"><strong>Responsible for performing designated process analysis and design tasks as part of broader problem-solving efforts for specific business projects across the enterprise.</strong>&nbsp;</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Develop, review, and analyze business process maps (vice president level to individual contributor level) by using lean/six sigma tools and approaches.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Analyze performance data, organizational structure, budget, spend, FTE, work volumes and other metrics to determine current status and gaps.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Assist the project in analyzing and summarizing key findings and their magnitude (data/metrics) related to wastes, quality, timeliness, cost, and management infrastructure.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Perform root-cause analysis for the assigned problems.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Develop alternative/recommended solutions, cost benefit analysis, future state maps, and implementation plans as assigned.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Develop and maintain assigned sections of executive presentations.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Support executive presentations and present where necessary.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Perform other related duties as required.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <div id="requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1574.row1" class="inlinepanel" title=""><span class="subtitle">Qualifications</span></div> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, Computer Science or related field is required.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Four to seven years experience in related field.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Two years in business or process improvement projects.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Lean or Six Sigma process improvement experience preferred.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Proficient in using spreadsheets and analyzing data.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Proficient in development and analysis of process maps.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Proficient in project management practices.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and other computer software.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Excellent organization skills and ability to effectively multi task in a dynamic and fast paced environment.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</span></li> </ul>
