Overview: <p style="font-weight: 400;">Responsible for completeness and accuracy of assigned projects, including internal and external reporting and preparation of audited financial statements. Assist with coordination of audit requests. Must be able to work in cross-functional teams and have strong critical thinking and analytic skills with attention to detail.</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, modeling and reporting assigned department financial information such as revenue and expenses by account, customer and product segments.&nbsp; Uses specialized knowledge for interpretation and application of financial and accounting principles to ensure compliance for financial and regulatory filings.</strong></p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Prepare various in depth financial analysis related to income, expenses and variances.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Other deliverables may include account reconciliations, impact studies, audit findings, budgets/forecasts, journal entries and business cases.</li> <li>Prepare range of financial or regulatory reports, schedules and/or statements required by internal and external entities (e.g., auditors, customers, providers, CMS, OFIR, etc.).</li> <li>Develop, maintain and update complex financial models based on varying assumptions.</li> <li>Prepare specific division, customer or segment reports that may include compiling information from various sources to provide meaningful financial reports or to assure appropriate data reconciliation.&nbsp;</li> <li>Financial data may include financial statement detail, corporate, division and cost center information, cost allocations, general ledger transactions, settlement activity, membership, billing and revenue activity.</li> <li>May process financial transactions including journal entries, invoices, cost allocations, etc. Support business units/departments in execution of system testing, data validation and resolution of related issues.&nbsp;</li> <li>Review system functional design, upgrades and business requirements to ensure Finance divisional needs are represented in core IT business documentation.</li> <li>Assist with drafting of policies and development of desk level procedures; identify and implement opportunities for improved processes and controls.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate on various project teams to evaluate and/or implement business changes; ensure ramifications of changes remain in compliance with internal and external regulations and controls.</li> <li>Respond to ad-hoc requests and inquiries.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>May review work of other team members for accuracy and completeness.</li> <li>Other duties may be assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) or related Master&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li> <li>Four (4) years professional finance or accounting experience including financial statement or corporate tax preparation, and accounting pronouncement research.</li> <li>Proven project management experience preferred.</li> <li>Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word required.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.</li> <li>Advanced aptitude for Ad-hoc and database development and reporting required.</li> <li>Ability to perform detailed financial analysis and reconciliations required.</li> <li>Knowledge of HMO procedures required such as general knowledge of what governs and HMO, acceptable billing practices, understanding of HIPPA regulation, Public Act 316, PHI issues etc.</li> <li>High degree of complex evaluative, analysis, and problem-solving skills required.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to conduct presentations required.</li> <li>Highly motivated, organized, and a self-starter with excellent time management skills required.</li> <li>Ability to think in a logical progression and apply this to database data extraction required.</li> <li>Knowledge of Facets and Business Objects strongly preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of project management techniques preferred.</li> </ul>
