Overview: <p>Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking to add a Performance Management Associate to its existing team. This team is responsible for developing corporate goals and delivering relevant and timely intelligence and performance information to BCBSM leadership. As part of the Performance Management team you will spend most of your time performing analyses, modeling scenarios, synthesizing internal performance information, and creating presentations for executive and board-level audiences. The Performance Management Associate role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders in the business and executive leadership to develop performance insight and solicit organizational buy-in. This is a high exposure role that requires both business acumen and an ability to generate analytical and performance insights.<br /><br />The Performance Management Associate is responsible for making recommendations on highly consequential matters, with long-term implications for the organization including setting enterprise priorities, and assessment of strategic investments and partnerships. A Performance Management Associate considers market trends and changes, identify, prioritize and develop metrics to enable the future state of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network and its subsidiaries.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Frame and drive thorough analysis to develop recommendations to leadership.</li> <li>Support teammates in leading the business through dashboard development and on to execution.</li> <li>Develop statistical and financial models in Excel and other tools to project the impact of market events, competitor actions, strategic initiatives, and new business opportunities on metrics such as membership, cost to serve, and margin; evaluating potential actions and developing recommendations.</li> <li>Create executive level presentations and correspondence to communicate recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.</li> <li>Maintain a point of view on where the health care industry is headed, and provide a perspective on how BCBSM should respond in light of changing industry trends.</li> <li>Understand the economic and financial drivers of our business, and ensure that financial perspective is articulated within business plans.</li> <li>Act as a thought partner to enterprise leadership in the development and prioritization of long-term goals.</li> </ul> <p><strong>THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Have a keen attention to detail necessary to measure and report corporate goal performance to the CEO, executive staff, and Board of Directors.</li> <li>Support the design and development of the corporate goals, metrics, and framework.</li> <li>Advanced quantitative analysis skills to perform financial modeling, claims analysis, competitor analysis, and complex statistical analysis.</li> <li>Have the necessary software, communication skills and detail-orientation to create executive level presentations and correspondence for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required with a major in business, public health, policy, or mathematics preferred.</li> <li>Three (3) or more years of experience in related field required. Health care industry experience strongly preferred.</li> <li>Previous experience in management consulting, investment banking, policy, or corporate strategy at a complex organization highly desired.</li> </ul> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
