Overview: <p><strong>The Sr Business Analyst will be part of the Strategy team responsible for shaping and driving strategies for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan&rsquo;s (BCBSM) Health Plan Business (HPB) division. As part of the HPB Strategy team, you will work closely with market-facing segments and functional areas as a strategic adviser and partner on near-term and long-term divisional priorities and strategies (e.g., segment and functional area-specific efforts, cross-divisional initiatives, and division-led enterprise-wide efforts). Key activities include developing work plans, performing quantitative/qualitative analysis, gathering/synthesizing external perspectives (e.g., market dynamics, competitor insights, etc.), framing strategic options, and crafting deliverables. In addition, you will support the division&rsquo;s strategic planning process and its key strategic forums/discussions, gaining exposure to the most important priorities of the business.</strong></p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop detailed project plans and schedules, identify goals, objectives, risks and resource allocation.</li> <li>Monitor project status for significant deviations in quality, cost or schedule. Interface with various departments, senior management and external individuals providing value and support for continuous improvement.</li> <li>Support development of project budgets and update, as required.</li> <li>Coach and mentor team members.</li> <li>Provide feedback on team performance.</li> <li>Ensure that expectations are developed, controlled, and executed in a timely manner.</li> <li>Represent leadership staff at meetings in their absence.</li> <li>May provide supervision to others.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related field required.</li> <li>Professional services (e.g., consulting, investment banking) or corporate strategy experience is preferred.</li> <li>Five (5) or more years' experience in related field.</li> <li>Strong technical skills (e.g., financial modeling, quantitative methods, presentation development).</li> <li>Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skill.</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders.</li> <li>Comfort with uncertainty and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.</li> <li>Project management and organizational skills.</li> <li>Leadership and/or analytical experience with data, systems, and operations.</li> <li>Knowledge of program management preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work independently, within a team environment and with multiple priorities.</li> <li>Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems.</li> <li>Three (3) years project management experience in health plan operations or related field.</li> <li>Project Management Professional Certificate preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work closely with the technical support team in understanding and resolving systems issues.</li> <li>Ability to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
