Overview: <div><strong>The Building Automation Systems (BAS) Administrator is responsible for the design, development and integration of all building and security automation system hardware and software components, in accordance with corporate standards, as required to produce a fully functional system. This position is accountable for developing installation drawings, configuring site-specific programs, assuring operations are within set parameters, performing diagnostics and remediation of system problems, and the training of the operational staff.</strong></div>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Responsible for design, installation, programming, operation, maintenance, training and administration of a multi-million dollar control system essential to proper operations of a physical plant supporting a complex data processing and office environment, and the security of that business environment and its guests.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain existing systems and evaluate new systems; modify sequence of operations to meet building occupant needs and operating schedules; review systems for conformance to industry standards; evaluate programming methods; monitor and analyze facility energy utilization and make recommendations or implement program changes to reduce energy consumption.&nbsp;</li> <li>Respond to alarms, emergencies, or systems failures and make all necessary program changes.&nbsp;</li> <li>Identify and diagnose system flaws, repair building automation systems and components, and frequently use independent judgment, analysis and logic to manipulate control software to meet desired outcomes.&nbsp;</li> <li>Use understanding of physical plant operations, mechanical HVAC equipment, electrical generation and distribution equipment, security and BAS components to review project specifications, drawings and other documents to establish project intent to develop or engineer valued solutions and implement them.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide programming that follows the engineered sequence of operations, utilizing established standards; provide development of the graphical user interface as required by project documents and graphical review utilizing established standards; provide specific As-Builts based upon initial project construction drawings and field modification mark-ups; assist with commissioning via phone and/or site visits.&nbsp;</li> <li>Complete or assist with As-Builts and job closeout; report progress to manager.&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinate, train and occasionally supervise building engineers, vendors and other facilities personnel as necessary.&nbsp;</li> <li>Other duties may be assigned.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: &nbsp;<strong>Qualifications</strong>" <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, engineering technology, building automation technology or related field.</li> <li>Five (5) years experience in a building controls automation systems environment.</li> <li>Three (3) years software application experience with the building or process controls industry, including controls associated with complex Data Processing Centers and physical plants generating steam, hot water, chilled water, and emergency power.</li> <li>Knowledge of electrical, control and network wiring.</li> <li>Knowledge of HVAC control systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, security systems, CCTV, and servicing techniques.</li> <li>Knowledge in any of the following systems preferred: Tridium, Alerton, Honeywell, Johnson, Automated Logic controls, Pelco, Digital Sentry, DC ControlPoint, TAC.</li> </ul> <div>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div><strong>OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong></div> <br /> <ul> <li>Support the activities of mechanics working on complex or non-complex, critical or non-critical Building Automation and Security equipment on a job site.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal skills to professionally represent the Facilities and Support Services Department with all levels of leadership both internally and externally.</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), Visio, AutoCAD.</li> <li>While normal working hours will be Monday through Friday, between the hours of 6am and 6pm, it must be understood that the facilities and data centers operate 24x7x365 and therefore this position must be able to work any shift, weekends and/or holidays be able to travel to other facilities and work from home as required.</li> <li>Ability to program Security and HVAC-related software.</li> <li>Ability to explain complex technical information to technical and non-technical people.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
