Overview: <strong>Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is seeking a health care sales and marketing professional who is accountable for development and planning sales strategy; while operating within broad objectives to ensure increasing market share and membership for BCBSM and/or BCN to meet corporate goals and objectives. Lead sales strategy initiatives that impact group and member retention in the small, middle and key and large HPB business segments that impact millions of dollars in premium and administrative fee revenue. In addition, leads the development of sales opportunities to both existing and new customers, through the creation of new modes of selling, channels and market development.</strong>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assist Health Plan Business leadership in analyzing problems and implementing programs that provide solutions that relate to executing go-to-market initiatives.</li> <li>Responsible for providing direction on go-to-market initiatives that impacts margins, membership, and competitive positions for assigned market segments.</li> <li>Provide strategic go-to market leadership for HPB segments, by managing new strategies and opportunities, and collaborating with various stakeholders across the enterprise to achieve positive business results.</li> <li>Assist in Strategy Development to ensure that Sales input is considered for major initiatives.&nbsp;</li> <li>Responsible for developing and maintaining systems to monitor, measure, and report performance and achievement of programs and strategic initiatives that have business segment and/or enterprise impact.</li> <li>Interact with internal departments to support contract retention and new business sales.</li> <li>Responsible for working with Sales Force Development to drive go-to-market training of sales teams on targeted initiatives.&nbsp;</li> <li>Identify best practices and opportunities for go-to-market initiatives, utilizing primary and secondary research.</li> <li>Provide research findings to Health Plan Business leadership via reports and presentation materials.</li> <li>Support the sales staff by accompanying sales representatives on external customer visits.</li> <li>Collaborate with external vendors and consultants on go-to-market initiatives.</li> <li>Responsible for keeping abreast of all BCBSM's products, programs, administrative policies and procedures.</li> <li>Participate in various forms of community events to support positive corporate and marketing images.</li> <li>May provide supervision to others.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field required. </li><li>Five (5) years or more of concept sales or marketing experience, including experience in a leadership capacity (e.g., customer, staff, etc.). required. </li><li>The following licenses are required within 90 days of the employee’s start date or the license expiration date. </li><li>1. Valid Michigan Accident and Health Insurance License. </li><li>2. Valid Michigan driver's license required. </li><li>Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, presentation, problem resolution, sales, verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Detailed understanding of decision making, retention efforts and sales processes. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of the health care delivery and financing system. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of BCBSM and BCN products and services. </li><li>Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems. </li><li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job. </li><li>Extensive travel to business locations required. </li><li>Must meet local and/or national sales and marketing sales competencies as required. </li></ul>
