Overview: <strong><span style="font-size: small;">Provide support for architecture discipline as defined by departmental requirements. Provide overall direction, guidance, definition and facilitation for the development of architecture required to meet business strategies and goals. Identify, support, and analyze the enterprise&rsquo;s business drivers, IT strategies, and current IT environment and recommend solutions to improve, develop, and align IT to the business. Work as a lead or internal consultant on complex domain activities and/or projects/programs that require in-depth technical of one or more specific architecture discipline area, such as security, information/data, or solution.</span></strong>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Analyze information to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, determine accuracy of reports and monitor the efficiency and security of operations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in the IT Architecture and domain&rsquo;s architecture governance process.</li> <li>Support the development of architectural models or views.&nbsp; Identify opportunities for reuse.</li> <li>Verify compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure, services, and strategic requirements. Participate in quality reviews and provide feedback.&nbsp; Advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, and technology priorities. Work with project teams to understand business requirements and help them understand how technology tradeoffs influence strategy. Sell the architecture process.&nbsp; Keep IT technology and delivery managers aware of key customer issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.<br /> Coordinate architecture implementation and modification activities.</li> <li>Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends and identify tools to assist in project/program development and/or operational support activities.&nbsp; Identify changes that impact strategic business direction.</li> <li>Develop, motivate, and mentor IT team members to create a team environment.&nbsp;</li> <li>Other duties may be assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Security Departmental Requirements</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Work closely with other functional area architects and security specialists to ensure appropriate security solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms to mitigate identified risks sufficiently, and to meet business objectives, regulatory requirements, and domain and industry best practices.</li> <li>Assist in the development of the business, information and technical artifacts that constitute the enterprise information security architecture and solutions.</li> <li>Support research requests new technologies and architectures.</li> <li>Analyze business and systems impacts, based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities and risks.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>The role&rsquo;s primary responsibility would be to own and lead the security architecture strategy, design and implementation support for the Intel, Detection, Prevention and Response subdomains.</p> <ul> <li>Devise, review, update and maintain solution architecture for security technologies (network, operating system/platform, cloud, mobile, application/database).</li> <li>Propose and advise others regarding enterprise security architecture technology strategy.</li> <li>Define security requirements for enterprise applicable to EIS, EIOS, and enterprise wide technologies.</li> <li>Support architecture and engineering of EIS strategic technologies (detective, preventive, responsive security controls).</li> <li>Support project security architects by advising on applicable security requirements and security control technologies (detective, preventive, responsive security controls).</li> <li>Work with EIS team members (including SOC, Security Assessment team, Governance), other security teams in Enterprise, and other technology SMEs in Enterprise.</li> <li>Understand BCBSM/BCN and Enterprise Business and be able to identify applicable security requirements based on business capabilities needed.</li> <li>Be able to provide thought leadership, maintaining the highest level of industry awareness in information security and privacy in healthcare/insurance industry.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.</li> <li>Five (5) years of experience in multiple IT areas (data, network, application, systems, etc.) required.</li> <li>Requires advanced level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, systems engineering and integration.</li> </ul> <p><strong>OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Extensive self-motivation and risk-taking abilities.</li> <li>Extensive client relationship management experience.</li> <li>Knowledge and ability to determine and satisfy client needs and maintain a partnering relationship during engagements includes influencing, communicating, presenting, facilitating, managing and developing others.</li> <li>Extensive experience in decision making and critical and strategic thinking.</li> <li>Ability to analyze situations, reach productive decisions and maintain focus on key success factors.</li> <li>Knowledge of techniques, roles, and responsibilities to provide consultative knowledge internally and externally.</li> <li>Ability to create new ideas and initiatives to improve the performance of the organization.</li> <li>Knowledge of major products and services and product and service groups.</li> </ul>
