Overview: <strong><span style="font-size: small;">Responsible for handling complex legal matters based on broad and expert legal knowledge.</span></strong>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Applies working knowledge in other relevant business areas through creative applications to help resolve complex legal issues.&nbsp;</li> <li>Plans and conducts work requiring judgment to independently evaluate, select and substantially adapt/modify legal techniques, procedures and criteria.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drafts complex legal documentation and handles complex cases.&nbsp;</li> <li>Projects outcomes/costs and benefits of applying legal and administrative resources and is responsible for achieving planned outcomes and targeted return on invested resources.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participates in multi-functional teams as a legal liaison.&nbsp;</li> <li>Functions as a team facilitator/leader in relation to legal matters.&nbsp;</li> <li>Gives work direction to other legal professionals and non-legal professionals in the department/division.</li> <li>Appears in courts and before administrative agencies to represent the organization.&nbsp;</li> <li>Performs other related duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li> <li>Other duties may be assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Knowledge of court and agency procedures.</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of leadership concepts.</li> <li>Must have good clarity of thought, discretion and judgment ability.</li> <li>Must be able to develop rapport with client and to engender confidence with the client and in their own professional competence and judgment.</li> <li>Highly developed sense of ethics and integrity.</li> <li>Good analytical, negotiation, organizational, presentation, verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Capable to work effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Ability to read, analyze and interpret statutes, general business and legal periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.</li> <li>Ability to write contracts, opinions, briefs, reports, business correspondence, pleadings and procedure manuals.</li> <li>Qualified to effectively present information and respond to questions from courts, regulators, clients, customers and the general public.</li> <li>Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of business objectives and health care principles.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
