Competitive Total Compensation Package

Overview: Responsible to plan, organize, direct, control, and lead assigned business unit; specialize in development, planning, and leadership; operate within broad objectives to ensure optimum utilization of capital, manpower, and equipment for the assigned business unit.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage activities of a department including but not limited to planning, problem solving, staff development and communication.</li> <li>Execute function/area objectives that support continuous improvement.</li> <li>Manage professional and non-exempt non-bargaining employees.</li> <li>Responsible for special projects and/or problem resolutions.</li> <li>Provide effective and efficient solutions to complex business problems.</li> <li>Provide high level oversight and leadership.</li> <li>Other Duties may be assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Department Information:</u></strong></p> <p>Manage a team responsible for negotiating commercial contracts and/or leading sourcing initiatives with suppliers to the BCBSM enterprise to obtain optimal value for goods and services.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with Procurement Consultants, business development representative and business owner in determination and support of the sourcing strategy.</li> <li>Understand and enforce procurement policies and procedures and ensure that they are followed. Satisfy compliance requirements.</li> <li>Coach staff on the RF(X) process events utilizing Oracle PeopleSoft Strategic Sourcing module; subject matter expert for module.</li> <li>Provide leadership support and guidance related to sourcing and contract related activities.</li> <li>Ability to create a vision for the team and lead the team to attain the vision.</li> <li>Must be able to challenge status quo, current practices and assumptions in pursuit of continuous improvement.</li> <li>Continually work to streamline and develop efficiencies within the sourcing process to reduce time for completion.</li> <li>The employee will be driving process improvements and process documentation.</li> <li>Must be able to have clear communication, specific measurements that are meaningful to stakeholders and drive strategic objectives.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Department Preferences:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to effectively utilize metrics to measure team and individual team member performance.</li> <li>Proven ability to build a strong team through an emphasis in diversity and inclusion.</li> <li>Proven ability to establish and maintain a broad, diverse network of relationships throughout the organization including counterparts in Legal, Audit, HR, Risk Management and various business divisions.</li> <li>C.P.M. or C.P.S.M. Preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related field required. Master's Degree in related field considered a plus.</li> <li>Five (5) to ten (10) years&rsquo; experience in related field including experience in a leadership role.</li> <li>Ability to work under general direction.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Good analytical, organizational, planning, verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> <li>Valid and unrestricted driver's license is required.</li> </ul>
