Overview: Blue Care Network of Michigan BCN Claims Business Systems Analyst Grand Rapids, MI (Cascade) Responsible for analyzing business processes and/or reporting; designs, develops and maintains complex software applications and reports used by the Claims division to improve department efficiency and support business decision making.
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Understand business processes in conjunction with leadership in order to design, develop, implement and maintain complex Microsoft Access or other designated software databases and applications used to support and improve daily departmental/divisional operations.</li><li>Work with leadership to understand Macess EXP or other designated software reporting needs in order to design, develop, implement and maintain complex SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports used to support business decision making.</li><li>Analyze and develop specifications utilizing business input; develop and generate ad hoc reporting requests related to Facets and Macess EXP data.</li><li>Generate timely and accurate operational reports and extracts for inventory, processing and operational measurements. Refresh background supportive data tables timely.</li><li>Document and communicate project concepts, milestones and results.</li><li>Recommend and assist with implementing existing and new policies and procedures.</li><li>Participate in systems testing, develop procedures/controls and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement of updated processes. </li><li>Assist internal and external entities through inquiry response, supplying information and training.</li><li>Develop and maintain effective working relationships with related business partners.</li><li>Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>-</li> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field preferred.</li> <li>Two (2) years experience which includes in health care or related field with exposure to claims, systems analysis and design or database development required.</li> <li>Experience with relational databases, structured system programming and coding schemes, Structured Query language, Object-oriented programming (Microsoft Access or Visual Basic), systems development life cycle application, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) required.</li> <li>Leadership and/or analyst experience required with demonstrated experience in operational analysis, data analysis, and problem resolution type projects and activities.</li> <li>Ability to plan, organize, and control projects.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to lead and contribute to related projects.</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of general statistics, Microsoft Office Suite Software and related PC or mainframe applications.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul> <strong>Departmental Requirements:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>2 years SSRS experience.</li> <li>2 years experience writing complex SQL queries.</li> </ul>
