Overview: <p><strong>BCBSM is seeking a specialist for corporate affairs communications who brings forward-thinking ideas and solutions to the way our employees connect with our company, our leaders and each other. In this role our writers and editors will work closely with the communications team, functional leaders and subject matter experts across the enterprise to design and execute communication plans that support our business and employee engagement objectives. The selected candidate must be versed in Adobe Creative Suite, photography and videography, have impeccable attention to detail and the ability to perform under tight deadlines. Experience in an insurance company is preferred.</strong></p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Responsible to plan, develop, write and edit a variety of assigned communications products.</strong></p> <ul> <li>Conceptualize, develop, write and produce communications; i.e. brochures, newsletters, fliers, letters and manuals.</li> <li>Develop speeches and presentations.</li> <li>Assist in editing form letters and other mass communications to meet corporate standards for clarity, tone, style and correctness.</li> <li>Assist customer service units and/or other areas of the organization in developing and improving communication materials.</li> <li>Support special projects as assigned.</li> <li>Maintain a complete understanding of the corporate communications strategy and develop communications plans that support corporate strategic plan.</li> <li>Other duties may be assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related discipline required.</li> <li>Two (2) to five (5) years or more professional communications experience, preferably in health care and/or similar experience in related field.</li> <li>Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
