Overview: <p>We are hiring for a Senior Business Analytics Analyst in our Analytics Center of Excellence &ndash; the power hub of analytics for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. This is a great opportunity to make a unique but powerful impact using your exploratory analysis skills and expertise in statistical methods to determine what types of programs should be pursued to solve problems and / or capitalize on new opportunities.</p> <p>As a Senior Business Analytics Analyst you will develop hypotheses and data analysis plans to determine the best approach for conducting descriptive analytics, create savings models, evaluate program outcomes, size potential opportunities, and determining the best approach for business stakeholders to draw insights in a self-service fashion through dashboards.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Support synthesis of business problems into analytics frameworks.</li> <li>Participate in working sessions with the business to develop hypotheses to explore that will inform business decisions or evaluate program outcomes.</li> <li>Support the creation of a broad analysis plan to determine the best approach for answering business questions and evaluating program outcomes.</li> <li>With minimal supervision, produce statistical analyses and visualizations from the broader analysis plan.</li> <li>Proactively identify further analyses based on initial results.</li> <li>Synthesize results into meaningful insights and tie results to other information about the business or topic that will optimize business decisions.</li> <li>Summarize results of analyses for business understanding that tie to the business problem and objectives.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, Informatics, Epidemiology, Biostatics, Data Science, or other related field is required. Master&rsquo;s degree or PhD in related field is preferred.</li> <li>A minimum of four (4) year of related work experience.&nbsp; Previous experience working in the healthcare industry, including intermediate knowledge of how health care claims are billed and how the health system works is preferred.</li> <li>Previous experience programming (at least one language) is required.</li> <li>Intermediate knowledge about different evaluation study designs (i.e., case-control, cohort), methodologies for controlling for population differences in studies (i.e., regression analysis, propensity score matching) programming (i.e., SQL, R, Python) and visualization (i.e., Tableau).</li> <li>Experience developing control groups and advanced statistical methods.</li> <li>Intermediate knowledge of statistical testing techniques (i.e. ANOVA t-tests, chi-squared, etc.).</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Intermediate skills in Microsoft Access, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.</li> <li>Ability to effectively interface and present to management at all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment.</li> </ul>
