Overview: <strong>Departmental Summary<br /><br /></strong>Responsible for building and maintenance of data environments by sourcing, integrating, and programming data that can be utilized to solve complex business cases for advanced analytics.&nbsp; Provide recommendations on overall project direction, approach, and scope.
Responsibilities: <strong><strong>Departmental Preferences<br /><br /></strong></strong> <ul> <li>Design, develop, document and test advanced data systems that supports building of artificial intelligence/machine learning models.</li> <li>Define and implement best engineering practices, perform peer code reviews to ensure successful deliverables with engineering excellence, and work with IT to automate deployment and monitoring process (MLOps).</li> <li>Provide thought leadership on a variety of initiatives, engage in reviewing code and other deliverables for additional projects, and mentor Data Engineers and interns.</li> <li>Work with the data science team to determine the scope and business problem. Assist in determining the overall approach to the build of the appropriate data environment that best supports the business issue.</li> <li>Build user interface and visualization for advance analytics models.</li> <li>Take part in training (online, classroom, webinars, etc.) to increase skill set and technical capabilities to better serve the needs of the business. Share training materials and communicate knowledge gained to other Data Engineering staff to maximize knowledge transfer.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Departmental Requirements<br /><br /></strong>QUALIFICATIONS<br /><br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required.</li> <li>Five (5) years of data engineering and application design is required.</li> <li>Experience in systems design and have a solid understanding of development, database development, testing, and integration methodologies is required.</li> <li>Project management experience is preferred.</li> <li>Intermediate knowledge of big data (i.e., Map/Reduce, YARN, HDFS, etc.), Databricks, query building (i.e., PL/SQL, HIVE, Impala, Spark, etc.), programming (i.e., R, Python, C, Java, Ruby, etc.) and visualization tools (i.e., QlikView, Tableau, Web FOCUS, etc.).</li> <li>Broad level of understanding application architecture standards is required.</li> <li>Experience designing, developing, and testing applications using proven or emerging technologies is required.</li> <li>Previous experience working in the healthcare and/or consulting industry is preferred.&nbsp; Familiarity with NASCO system preferred.</li> <li>Experience in API and User Interface development required.</li> <li>Intermediate skills in Microsoft Access, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to present nuanced technical concepts to management at all levels of the organization is required.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and in a team environment.</li> </ul>
