Overview: <p><strong>This position is responsible for monitoring the company&rsquo;s compliance with tax laws and regulations and assists with the timely completion and filing of the consolidated tax return.&nbsp; Informs all levels of management on new tax laws, tax updates and their potential impact.&nbsp; Coordinates corporate tax audits.&nbsp; Recommends and implements methods and procedures to minimize tax liability or promote tax savings.&nbsp; Coordinates the activities and functions of area or section including but not limited to planning, organization, problem solving, and communication.&nbsp; Close interaction with employees and management within or outside the department in performing duties and assignments. Leads projects sponsored by the Corporate Tax department. Identifies and manages project issues and risks to facilitate resolution. Develops and maintains cross functional business readiness, communications, and training plans for assigned projects.</strong>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assist in the preparation of the consolidated&nbsp;federal, state, and local tax returns and&nbsp;quarterly estimates. Responsible for monitoring and analyzing emerging matters at the federal, state, and local level.&nbsp;</li> <li>Responsible for providing tax support and planning opportunities to enterprise management and subsidiaries.</li> <li>Prepare quarterly/annual tax provisions and monthly tax accruals, including related journal entries and tax sharing payment documentation</li> <li>Prepare monthly/annual sales and use tax returns.&nbsp; Responsible for analyzing detail and gathering information for a complete return.&nbsp; Work with IT group as needed on SUT software related items.</li> <li>Support other indirect tax compliance as needed</li> <li>Provide Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and regulatory audit support.&nbsp;</li> <li>Preparation of financial presentations, projects, statements, and regulatory reports.&nbsp;</li> <li>Interface with various departments, senior management, and individuals internally and externally.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Advanced Technical Degree (MST, JD, MBA-Tax) preferred.</li> <li>Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a corporate tax environment where tax research and compliance are a regular part of the job function.</li> <li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of federal, state, local, corporate and partnership tax laws.</li> <li>Familiar with the preparation of consolidated Federal and State tax returns.</li> <li>Proficient with Thomson Reuters OneSource Tax Provision &amp; Return software preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work under minimal supervision in a team environment and with multiple priorities where there are strict deadlines.</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Experience with Alteryx preferred.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects.</li> <li>Experience working with key business areas.</li> <li>Experience with managing stakeholder expectations and required decisions</li> </ul>
