Competitive Total Compensation Package

Overview: Responsible for&nbsp;direct equity investments, partnerships, and co-investments with other Blues plans. Manage economic and related information for BCBSM's investments in venture capital, private equity, and fund-of-funds. Drive BCBSM's merger and acquisition initiatives, including the integration process, while helping to plan and execute on BCBSM's overall corporate strategies.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Source and diligence new investment opportunities while preparing investment memorandums based on market research.</li> <li>Actively monitor all areas of limited partnership investments including communication with external management teams to ensure compliance with all contracts.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with and further define policies and procedures (including approval requirements) as it relates to the health care focused alternative investments portfolio and strategic investments portfolio.</li> <li>Collaborate with internal, cross-functional leads to develop workstream specific due diligence plans.</li> <li>Conduct due diligence and provide insight to inform decisions around potential transactions.</li> <li>Review financial statements, key contracts, personnel, and customer information to drive valuation decisions.</li> <li>Draft and review letters of intent, purchase agreements, and other transactional documents.</li> <li>Identify value drivers for target companies to help achieve specific goals.</li> <li>Provide guidance and strategy around implementation and integration approaches for both prospective and completed transactions.</li> <li>Prepare management presentations and engage with other internal stakeholders to communicate key information.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div class="job-details__section"> <div class="basic-formatter" data-bind="html: job().description"> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. &nbsp;</li> <li>Five (5) years of experience in health care insurance, corporate development, or a related position is required.</li> <li>JD or MBA with a concentration in Finance preferred.</li> <li>Two (2) to three (3) years in mergers and acquisitions preferred.</li> <li>Advanced decision making and critical thinking skills.</li> <li>Knowledge and understanding of legal requirements involved in operating contracts.</li> <li>Strong communication and presentation skills.</li> <li>Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.</li> <li>Proficient in current industry standard PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).</li> <li>Ability to evaluate opportunities through financial modeling and research.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul> </div> </div> <div class="job-details__apply">&nbsp;</div>
