Overview: Assists in enforcement of all corporate policies, procedures, rules, regulations, laws and ordinances applicable to the conduct of employees and others while on the premises.&nbsp; Informs internal and external stakeholders of facility emergency preparedness plans and safety campaigns. Secures property against natural and man-made hazards such as severe weather damage, fire, theft, trespassing and illegal entry.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Monitors and operates computerized building safety and security systems; answers customer information requests, and dispatches appropriate staff via radio and telephone for building security.</li> <li>Monitors enterprise-wide security systems and networks, such as closed-circuit technology. Test and documents operation of all CCTV cameras to ensure functionality state-wide and nationally.</li> <li>Receives and responds to emergency and non-emergency calls from internal and external stakeholders.&nbsp; Performs multiple stakeholder requests via phone, email and access controls systems. Liaison with Public Safety throughout the state and nationally for enterprise dispatch in an emergent situation.</li> <li>Processes and evaluates information received, prioritizes calls and dispatches required units and/or agencies.</li> <li>Maintains status and locations of post officers. Monitors and coordinates unit activity and assignments via radio frequencies.</li> <li>Creates and distributes mass Emergency Notification System (ENS) messages for emergent situations.</li> <li>Creates and maintains automated or manual logs.</li> <li>Performs various access control audits for all facilities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>One (1) year post-secondary education in Criminal Justice or related discipline.&nbsp; Associate&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li> <li>One (1) year experience as a BCBSM Security Officer I preferred.</li> <li>Two (2) years security related experience, general business or military experience.</li> <li>Ability to obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications for Basic First Aid, Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Low Flow Oxygen, and driver&rsquo;s license with chauffeur endorsement.</li> <li>Operational knowledge of fire, CO2, life support, safety and communication (e.g. radio and surveillance) systems and devices.</li> <li>Good verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Follow established procedures, remain calm under emergency situations.</li> <li>Proficient in computer usage such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge and ability to trouble-shoot system-related malfunctions.</li> <li>Command Center - Proficient in the use of the facility Public Address Systems, radio dispatch and use of a graphic user interface to connect multiple sites.</li> <li>Command Center - Ability to quickly become proficient with a variety of other software systems (Access Control, Life Safety).</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
