Overview: <p><strong>Responsible for tax transactional support of enterprise business initiatives. This is a key position that will work closely with company business units and leadership to research tax implications of various business initiatives, and advise on M&amp;A, restructuring and tax controversy. You'll play an important role in building relationships with business teams and work collaboratively with Corporate Tax colleagues on various projects throughout the year.</strong></p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Proactively engage enterprise-wide to provide tax transactional support or identify tax planning opportunities, and work with business leaders to implement and support the organization&rsquo;s planning and strategy.</li> <li>Manage the evaluation of new and existing business processes to identify areas of opportunity and execute on business unit objectives, supporting continuous improvement.</li> <li>Provide mergers and acquisitions support regarding federal income taxes.</li> <li>Support federal and state income tax audits.</li> <li>Perform tax research related to federal income tax issues for planning and support to advise management of tax implications resulting from organizational decisions.</li> <li>Provide guidance to the business, including subject matter expertise on technical tax issues outside of core transaction support work.</li> <li>Review and present recommendations and conclusions regarding the results of analysis and research for federal income tax planning in efforts to reduce tax burden.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.</li> <li>Advanced degree (J.D., MBA, MST) preferred.</li> <li>Seven (7) years of experience in in a corporate tax environment with responsibility for income tax planning, tax research, and accounting and compliance required.</li> <li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification highly preferred.</li> <li>Two (2) years of experience with corporate taxation in the health care or insurance industry preferred.</li> <li>Previous leadership experience required.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Working knowledge of corporate organizational structures, including functional responsibilities.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge and experience of ASC 740, FIN 48 and SSAP101 reporting.</li> <li>Strong verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently. Ability to make complex decisions and solve practical problems and deal with moving variables in situations with limited standardization and alignment.</li> <li>Ability to interface and present to all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
