Overview: BCBSM is looking for a DevOps Infrastructure Automation Engineer to improve the efficiency of our engineering operations and corporate application releases, along with implementing the scalable infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, learn new skills while improving existing ones, and maintain a positive attitude. This candidate will be looked to for advice on DevOps/Automation industry trends and provide technical leadership in project initiatives.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Build and maintain tools, scripts, and processes that make our engineers more efficient</li> <li>Work with System Engineers, Developers, Architects to design and implement automated solutions with CD Pipelines for infrastructure and software build, deployment, and configuration</li> <li>Build DevOps solutions using the latest technologies and tools</li> <li>Automate and manage container management platform</li> <li>Maintain Git version control repositories and related systems supporting initiatives around Infrastructure as code</li> <li>Leverage scripting languages to build automated solutions. Languages can include BASH, PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, Python across both Windows and Linux systems</li> <li>Work with XML and JSON based APIs to orchestrate integration between product components</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Experience with microservice architectures and distributed systems</li> <li>Experience running cloud systems and infrastructure</li> <li>Experience using Linux and Kubernetes, Docker or other container runtimes</li> <li>Experience with DevOps methodologies, automation, and/or production system administration</li> <li>Effective communication and socialization skills in a team environment</li> <li>Understanding of developer workflows and version control system interaction</li> <li>Deep knowledge in one or more scripting or development language (Javascript, Go, Ruby, PHP, Python, etc.)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <p>Technical and functional background in the following DevOps/Automation technologies and hosting environments:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Continuous Integration (Jenkins)</li> <li>Artifact Storage (Artifactory)</li> <li>Infrastructure provisioning (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform)</li> <li>Release and Deployment (Urban Code Release, Urban Code Deploy)</li> <li>Unit Testing (Selenium, Junit)</li> <li>Security Scanning (Fortify, Sonatype Nexus IQ)</li> <li>Containers and Container Orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker)</li> <li>Version Control System (GitLab, GitHub Enterprise)</li> <li>Virtualization systems automation (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, RHEV)</li> <li>Cloud: AWS, Azure, GCP</li> </ul> <p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.</li> <li>3 years of related technology work experience required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of products and services.</li> <li>Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments</li> <li>Written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with system users and other technical collegues.</li> <li>Ability to work independently or within a team environment.</li> <li>Analytical thinking skills.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
