Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package

Overview: Responsible for retention activities for BCBSM and/or BCN customers generally with 50 to 99 contracts in a group within an assigned geographic area. Retention activities include planning, strategizing, benefit consulting and administration to increase membership as well as required resell activities. Responsibility may include enrolled and prospective customers.<br /> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Demonstrated ability to partner and support health care insurance agents, consultants, union and management.</li> <li>Experienced with medical, pharmacy, dental and vision benefits necessary to promote and retain Blue.</li> <li>Knowledge of Self-Funded (ASC, Experience Rated (ERS), Industry and Community Pooled Fully Insured funded arrangements.</li> <li>Experienced presentation and consultative skills.</li> <li>Responsive to "what if" situations to consider alternative approaches.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to establish and meet high impact goals.</li> <li>Must have proactive approach and take initiative.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and have flexibility in work schedules.</li> </ul> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>DEPARTMENT PREFERENCES</strong></p> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Highly preferred that candidate be engaged and actively involved in community relations for the counties they will service in the&nbsp;Central Michigan assigned territory.</li> <li>Highly preferred if candidate understands basics of quote development.</li> <li>Highly preferred if candidate has understanding of financials, i.e., Underwriting, Finance, Risk Management</li> <li>&nbsp;Highly preferred if candidate remains current with insurance industry trends and Affordable Care Act.</li> <li>Highly preferred if candidate has BCBSM experience and understands the importance of working as a team.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Develop specific retention strategy to identify and know individual customer characteristics, understand the decision-making process and gain trust and respect from all labor and management decision-makers and independent agents.</span></div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Provide the customer with information related to alternate methods of health care delivery (e.g., HMO, POS, PPO, and Traditional).&nbsp;&nbsp;May include financial alternatives such as funding options.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"><span style="font-family: Arial;">Use established resell process to coordinate customer acceptance of renewals, open enrollment activities and the acquisition of information for the completion of necessary reporting.</span></span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Explore possible jeopardy situations and develop and implement sales strategies to retain the group.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Identify complex servicing problems, refer through appropriate internal channels and assure resolution of the problems.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Coordinate and assist in the education and training of group contact personnel.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Complete and forward all sales plans and/or reports as required.&nbsp;</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Responsible for involvement in community relations activities to support corporate, sales and marketing images.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Secure necessary data for the development of rates for proposed programs.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Develop presentations of proposed programs in order to meet customer needs and close the sale.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Coordinate the successful implementation of new business enrollment with the sales office.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;">Participate in various forms of community relations to support positive corporate and marketing images.</span></div> <div>&nbsp;</div> </li> <li> <div><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Other duties may be assigned.</span></span></div> </li> </ul>
