Overview: <div><strong>This position will be responsible for overseeing a team that provides full profit and loss support to market segment executives responsible for achieving targeted earnings and membership performance level.&nbsp; This includes, but is not limited to,&nbsp; partnering with segment leaders to lead the development of multi-year financial plans, budget development and assessment of strategic market action and underlying business cases.</strong></div> <div><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></div> <div><strong>This role will require a keen awareness and understanding of the balance between segment advocacy and business unit/enterprise performance expectations.</strong></div>
Responsibilities: <p>Provide strategy and direction to ensure integrated enterprise-wide reporting of financial plans. Create and drive client's business model/processes and ensure efficiency across business units.&nbsp; Develop and maintain strong partnerships to provide a profit and loss perspective to business units, facilitate change, and improve financial performance.&nbsp; Collaborate with Shared Services to develop integrated financial strategies, plans and processes.</p> <p>&nbsp;Build influential partnerships with clients and provide a profit and loss perspective.&nbsp;Oversee how the BCBSM business model and key business processes impact the business unit to help drive financial strategy.</p> <p>Assist business units in creating strategies for meeting continuous improvement goals and forecasting business needs. Develop recommendations regarding anticipated changes for the financial strategy of the business. Create the opportunity for employee growth and development by building a talent management plan. Evaluate cost structures and process flows against external benchmarks to ensure best practices that reduce costs and increase efficiencies across business units. Ensure the preparation of various financial reports to help drive financial strategy and business unit performance. Oversee vendor analysis to capitalize on potential opportunities for acquisition or joint ventures. Ensure client awareness regarding changes to business strategy/processes and their impact on financial and operational results. Ensure client's financial business plan adheres to budget requirements and corporate capital plan.&nbsp;Oversee the development of metrics related to new and revised processes.&nbsp;Other duties may be assigned.</p>
Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> &nbsp; <p>Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field required; Master's Degree preferred.</p> <p>Ten (10) or more years of experience in Finance or related field required.</p> <p>Three (3) to Five (5) years of managerial experience with demonstrated leadership ability required.</p> <p>Five (5) years experience in healthcare and/or insurance plan experience required.</p> <p>Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).</p> <p>Working knowledge of financial transactions flow and their financial statements impact.</p> <p>Certification (CPA, CMA, CFM) preferred.</p> <p>Ability to work effectively in team environment and with multiple priorities and certain deadlines.</p> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</p> <p>Excellent problem solving, interpersonal, and organization skills.</p> <p>Proficient in current industry standard PC applications and systems (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint).</p> <p>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</p>
