Overview: Responsible for supporting the information and analytical needs of internal customers by assisting in data acquisition validation, warehousing, and analysis of data; assist in designing statistical analysis, modeling and reporting tasks.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Perform analysis, reporting, and management of health care data.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Assist in collaborating with internal departments to provide critical data inputs for assessment of&nbsp;</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">monitoring and forecasting.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Communicate data and reports to actuarial partners for presentation to business segment owners; attend meetings&nbsp;</span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">related to data analysis and outcomes.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Maintain databases and an understanding of requirements determination, data organizational structures, testing&nbsp;a</span><span style="font-size: small;">pproaches, report design and development, BCBSM business, products, programs, relevant health care issues,&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: small;">and industry initiatives.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Responsible for ongoing data validation to ensure data integrity and reliability; identification of problems&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: small;">and recommendation of improvements in quality control and timelines for reporting.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Under direct supervision, design data modeling techniques, identify problem areas, recommend solutions and&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: small;">outcomes to leadership.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">I</span><span style="font-size: small;">dentify and analyze internal/external factors that influence reporting, forecasting, and analysis.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Assist in building reconciliation systems and migrating data.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Utilize technology to automate and improve current data and reporting processes.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: small;">Other duties may be assigned.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in related field required. </li><li>Two (2) years experience with healthcare data and informatics, federal and state level surveys and non traditional databases. </li><li>Knowledge of SAS & SQL, complex queries and programming experience (i.e. Access, SQL Server). </li><li>Health insurance actuarial experience preferred. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with various levels of internal and external management. </li><li>Strong analytical skills, demonstrated business acumen and ability to define problems, collect data, establish </li><li>facts and recommend solutions. </li><li>Proficient in current Microsoft office PC applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and relational database systems. </li><li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job. </li></ul>
