Overview: <p style="font-weight: 400;">The Business Consultant is a professional with strong industry and subject matter experience and a record of professional and academic achievement.&nbsp; You must be capable, and comfortable, of working and communicating with all levels of an organization, from the line-level to the executive suite.&nbsp; You may occasionally work on an independent basis, but&nbsp;should&nbsp;also be capable&nbsp;of working with and leading teams by providing relevant knowledge and direction whether as a direct team participant or as a mentor.&nbsp; Your work may also include leading multiple project work streams, small engagement teams or components of larger, more complex engagements.&nbsp; You will work side-by-side with company leadership and other consultants at all levels, with targeted exposure to executives. &nbsp;As a member of the Continuous Improvement department, you will display the capacity and desire for&nbsp;professional&nbsp;continuous improvement and growth.&nbsp; This position also requires the ability to deal with uncertainty in a changing environment, often with little or no direction.&nbsp; Leveraging a hypothesis-driven approach and detailed analysis, you will derive solutions that will be captured within an effective storyline.&nbsp; Problem and conflict resolution skills are essential, as is negotiation ability.</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">As a Business Consultant, your responsibilities will include managing deliverables, developing meaningful insights from quantitative and qualitative analyses, setting engagement objectives and scope, developing work plans and coordinating activities across project teams when applicable.&nbsp; You will formulate both tactical and strategic recommendations for business improvement.&nbsp; The projects that you work on will be complex, cross-functional engagements with a variety of possible outcomes to be evaluated for effectiveness.&nbsp; The subject matter of projects can be very broad, from those that require in-depth data analysis, to those that address corporate structure, direction or policy. &nbsp;Examples include: process cost identification, future-state design, organizational re-structuring, administrative cost reduction, and process efficiency.&nbsp; You will also be responsible for guiding and participating in the development and delivery of succinct and insightful presentations to company leadership and executives.&nbsp; The opportunity to interact with company leadership and executives will provide you with greater insight into company challenges and opportunities as well as in the larger health care and insurance industry.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Responsible for providing leadership and is accountable for overall project implementation by eliminating waste in all operational and business processes to improve service to customers and create an environment focused on continuous improvement.</li> <li>Responsible for an assigned business portfolio in conjunction with all project-related work managed by the Continuous Improvement department.</li> <li>Establish, maintain, and lead high-performance project teams, serving as the project advocate within the client organization. Lead risk management within project teams, ensuring appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.</li> <li>Integrate self into the client environment in order to effectively lead project teams while building positive professional relationships with clients and associates.</li> <li>Lead, coordinate, facilitate, and motivate all associated project resources to gain alignment on project goals and deliverables. Define project objectives, requirements, and assumptions necessary to structure a project or activity.</li> <li>Plan, schedule, and control project activities to fulfill objectives and satisfy project requirements for clients.</li> <li>Develop and drive integrated project plans, aligning project tactics with project strategy.</li> <li>Identify issues, form hypotheses and formulate and implement recommendations/solutions ensuring the client receives the assistance needed to implement the recommendations/solutions.</li> <li>Develop and document high-level strategies for accomplishing specific project objectives.</li> <li>Consult, develop and ensure compliance in the use of competitive production and performance.</li> <li>Write detailed requirements, process flows and Business vision documents for new project standards.</li> <li>Initiate and lead problem-solving efforts working closely with internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li>Design performance feedback systems to assess the resolution of business process deficiencies.</li> <li>Other duties may be assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related field is required.&nbsp; Advanced degree preferred.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">A minimum of 5 years of management experience leading process improvement teams.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">A minimum of seven (7) years related business process analysis and improvement experience reflecting measurable improvements and lean transformations.&nbsp;</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Formal training in Lean, Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma required.&nbsp; Black Belt certification required.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Two (2) or more years related Toyota Production System (TPS) experience preferred.</span></li> </ul>
