Overview: <p><strong>The Senior Strategy Analyst-Health Plan Business will be part of the division&rsquo;s Strategy team responsible for shaping and driving strategies for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan&rsquo;s (BCBSM) Health Plan Business (HPB) division. You will work as a strategic adviser and partner with market-facing segments and functional areas on near and long-term divisional priorities and strategies, such as cross-divisional initiatives, enterprise-wide efforts, and segment and functional area-specific efforts. Key activities include gathering and synthesizing external perspectives (e.g., market dynamics, competitor insights, etc.) to perform quantitative analysis (e.g., market sizing, financial modeling, etc.) and frame strategic options given market constraints. You will craft cross-functional work plans and deliverables to a diverse set of executive audiences.&nbsp;You will facilitate executive-level strategy sessions to generate valuable insight to explore long-term options. Additionally, you will support the division&rsquo;s strategic and capital planning processes and its key strategic forums/discussions, gaining exposure to the most important priorities of the business.</strong></p>
Responsibilities: <div id="textContent" class="readOnlyFrame"> <p><span style="font-family: arial, sans-serif;">Accountable for deliverables related to strategic planning including near and long-term development of project(s) with moderate to complex scope. Scope of work will include regular annual strategic planning processes as well as ad hoc projects which may impact one or more business unit/function. Project scope typically impacts one or more of the following: process, system, function, product and/or service. Develop detailed project plans and schedules, identify goals, objectives, risks and resource allocation.&nbsp;Monitor project status for significant deviations in quality, cost or schedule. Interface with various departments, senior management and external individuals providing value and support for continuous improvement.&nbsp;</span></p> </div>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in related field required (e.g., Business, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Healthcare Administration)</li> <li>Consulting or professional service experience is preferred (e.g., management consulting, investment banking, finance, or corporate strategy experience)</li> <li>Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skill required including financial modeling and quantitative assessment skills</li> <li>Capable of structuring business problems, possessing knowledge of diverse strategic frameworks and capable of applying frameworks to regular business problems and solutions</li> <li>Must have comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty and possess ability to manage multiple competing or vague priorities</li> <li>Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders</li> <li>Three (3) years&rsquo; experience managing projects in health insurance or closely related field</li> <li>Analytical experience with financial models, data, and operations</li> <li>Ability to work well with others as well as independently within a team environment</li> <li>Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and other industry standard PC applications and systems</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job</li> </ul>
