Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package

Overview: Responsible for the identification, analysis, and presentation of healthcare cost, utilization and industry trend data to external customers in a consultative, solution-focused manner. The position operates with board objectives to serve as a designated BCBSM strategic customer advisor.
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Act as a health plan consultant guiding customers in their decision-making regarding BCBSM programs and/ or products.</li><li>Intimately understand the customer’s goals, strategy and philosophy.</li><li>Review and distill reports to develop clear story around the customer’s cost and utilization data focusing on findings that are relevant, meaningful, and actionable.</li><li>Propose solutions informed by clear understanding of customer’s data, culture and business needs.</li><li>Proactively identify and present analytic and trend data to customers in a consultative, solution-focused way.</li><li>Provide annual customer evaluations, quarterly presentations, monthly presentations, and deeper-dive analytics to support customer decisions.</li><li>Conduct research, analysis, identification and evaluation of data from assigned problems to evaluate existing and potential trends and issues.</li><li>Possess and maintain an extensive comprehensive knowledge of BCBSM business, products, programs (including provider data, networks, etc.), corporate organizational structure (including functional responsibilities), and basic research principles and methodologies.</li><li>Collaborate with account management and other internal partners to deliver a customer centric service model to customers.</li><li>Manage and monitor multiple projects simultaneously by establishing project plans and objectives to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.</li><li>Independently develop and plan, reports, papers and/or other materials in a clear and concise manner.</li><li>Communicate results of analysis to management via reports/presentations and assist management in implementing programs that provide solutions.</li><li>Represent and participate in group or committee discussions.</li><li>Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul>
Requirements: DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENTS<br /> <ul> <li>Experience presenting to external customers required.</li> <li>Strong health care background preferred.</li> <li>Health plan benefits consulting experience is a plus.</li> </ul> OTHER QUALIFICATIONS<br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Care, Information Systems, Statistics or other related field is required. Master's Degree in related field preferred.</li> <li>Four (4) or more years of experience in related field required.</li> <li>Strong communication skills are required to understand, interpret, and communicate ideas.</li> <li>Strong knowledge and use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc).</li> <li>Working knowledge of data languages such as SAS or SQL.</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to effectively interface with employees at all levels.</li> <li>Understand and apply statistical inference.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> </ul>
