Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package

Overview: This is a key position that will work closely with company business units and leadership. The person in this role will build relationships with business teams and work collaboratively with Corporate Tax colleagues on various projects during the year. Responsible for the management of corporate tax planning and support initiatives. Partners with leadership and the business to research tax implications and implement corporate tax strategies. Provide advice on organizational mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and tax controversy.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Proactively engage enterprise-wide to provide tax transactional support or identify tax planning opportunities, and work with business leaders to implement and support the organization&rsquo;s planning and strategy.</li> <li>Manage the evaluation of new and existing business processes to identify areas of opportunity and execute on business unit objectives, supporting continuous improvement.</li> <li>Provide mergers and acquisitions support regarding federal income taxes.</li> <li>Support federal and state income tax audits.</li> <li>Perform tax research related to federal income tax issues for planning and support to advise management of tax implications resulting from organizational decisions.</li> <li>Provide guidance to the business, including subject matter expertise on technical tax issues outside of core transaction support work.</li> <li>Review and present recommendations and conclusions regarding the results of analysis and research for federal income tax planning in efforts to reduce the tax burden.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Advanced degree (J.D., MBA, MST) preferred.</li> <li>Seven (7) years of experience in in a corporate tax environment with responsibility for income tax planning, tax research, and accounting and compliance required.</li> <li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.</li> <li>Two (2) years of experience with corporate taxation in the health care or insurance industry preferred.</li> <li>Previous leadership experience required.</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Working knowledge of corporate organizational structures, including functional responsibilities.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge and experience of ASC 740, FIN 48 and SSAP101 reporting.</li> <li>Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.</li> <li>Ability to make complex decisions and solve practical problems and deal with moving variables in situations with limited standardization and alignment.</li> <li>Ability to interface and present to all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.</li> </ul>
