Overview: <p>We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Data Analyst to join our diverse HEDIS team. The candidate should be an effective communicator who is able to tell the story behind the source data to non-technical audiences at various levels.</p> <p>Data analyst responsibilities include gathering and interpreting user requirements, gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources, and building reporting capabilities to support business requirements. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to provide enhanced customer experience.</p>
Responsibilities: Provide technical and analytical skills to complete assigned projects/tasks which includes but is not limited to:<br /> <ul> <li>Participate in the design, development and production planning.</li> <li>Participate in group discussions to identify issues and potential solutions.</li> <li>Lead data collection, analysis, reporting, and documentation.</li> <li>Assess customer input and implement improvements.</li> <li>Conduct thorough quality check of the data and reports.</li> <li>Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.</li> </ul> <strong>Provide technical and analytical skills to complete assigned projects.</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Participate in the design, development and production plan for assigned projects.</li> <li>Produce assigned projects including data collection, management, analysis, reporting and documentation.</li> <li>Assess projects including customer input and implement improvements. Perform quality control on products.</li> <li>Mentor and coach junior staff. Develop advanced skills and knowledge through internal and external opportunities.</li> <li>Represent the Director/Manager of Medical Informatics as requested. Perform other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Qualifications(Requirements)</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree majoring in Medical Informatics, Data Processing, Computer Science or Health Care Technology preferred</li> <li>Minimum five (5) years&rsquo; experience in data processing and analysis required</li> <li>Knowledge of administrative data sources including standard clinical coding systems preferred</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of relational database design and construction required</li> <li>Demonstrated SQL knowledge required</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills required</li> <li>Excellent time management skills required</li> <li>Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy required</li> <li>Prior experience with HEDIS preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree required, majoring in Medical Informatics, Data Processing, Computer Science or Health Care Technology preferred</li> <li>Bachelor's degree preferred, majoring in Medical Informatics, Data Processing, Computer Science or Health Care Technology preferred.</li> <li>Masters level degree preferred.</li> <li>Minimum five (5) years experience in data processing and analysis.</li> <li>Knowledge of managed care including NCQA and MDCH requirements, and HEDIS preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of administrative data sources including standard coding schemes, HCFA 1500 and UB92 formats preferred.</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of SQL preferred.</li> <li>Comprehensive knowledge of relational database design and construction.</li> <li>Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of measurement strategies for disease prevention and management activities preferred.</li> <li>Knowledge of epidemiological study design and analytical techniques preferred.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills.</li> <li>Excellent time management skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated project management skills including the use of continuous quality improvement tools including process flowcharting.</li> <li>Demonstrated competency using SAS or SPSS, Access and Excel for data management and analysis.</li> </ul>
