Competitive Total Compensation Package

Overview: <p><strong>Provides leadership in the planning, design, and evaluation of enterprise-level strategic projects that support BCBSM's competitive position, achieve positive business results, and improve the health of&nbsp;customers and our enterprise. Responsible for identifying, evaluating and managing new strategies and market opportunities that support BCBSM's competitive position, achieve positive business results and improve the health of our customers and the enterprise.&nbsp;&nbsp; The leader is also responsible for developing a pipeline of talent for the organization at both the strategic and tactical level. Collaborates with various stakeholders across the enterprise, including executive leadership, to help inform strategy and solicit organizational buy-in.</strong></p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage the day-to-day execution of the Strategy team and plan for and delegate all team deliverables&nbsp;</li> <li>Guide and develop individual team members, investing in their professional growth and coaching where necessary</li> <li>Maintain a point of view on where the health care industry is headed, and provide a perspective on how BCBSM should respond in light of changing industry trends</li> <li>Identify opportunities for strategy development and delegate effectively across team, while establishing transparency and accountability for individuals carrying out enterprise strategy</li> <li>Lead the business through strategy development and on to execution</li> <li>Oversee and interpret analyses including, but not limited to, financial modeling, claims analysis, business case development, competitor analysis, and complex statistical analysis.</li> <li>Act as a thought partner to enterprise leadership in the development and prioritization of long-term strategies, requiring the ability to influence and change the mindset of, or gain acceptance of others, while leading the business in making effective and timely decisions</li> <li>Create executive level presentations and correspondence to communicate recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. Master's Degree in health policy or Business strongly preferred</li> <li>Eight (8) years of experience in related field required</li> <li>Health care industry experience and/or previous experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy at a complex organization required</li> <li>Demonstrated leadership and management experience required, including experience leading productive and effective teams</li> <li>Proven leader with the ability to inspire others, build strong relationships, and contribute to a positive team culture</li> <li>Structured and logical thinker with ability to craft a story line to communicate strategic initiatives to various audiences</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate and build relationships across the organization and at the executive level</li> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and creative problem solving skills</li> <li>Change management experience and ability to handle sensitive information and engage employees in difficult conversations</li> <li>Advanced proficiency using Excel and PowerPoint, including developing others' expertise in these tools</li> <li>Proven ability to synthesize complex data and information to support decision making</li> <li>Fluency with large data sets, data modeling, and interpretation</li> <li>Project management experience and proven track record as a strong team player and collaborator; experience leading and managing teams successfully required</li> <li>Self-driven with the ability to manage multiple time sensitive priorities</li> <li>Ability to handle ambiguity and move from a concept to a defined strategy</li> <li>Intellectual curiosity required</li> </ul>
